Magical Gathering (MtG Topic)

Got hooked to it after playing few games, used to play with @BlackJack but he died, so I am wondering if anyone here wants to try it out so we can be newbie learners together.

I dabble in MTG from time to time but I havnt played it in a while. Your should check out UnTap.in is like DN but for MTG.

mtg looks stupid

I am playing Magic on xMage, it is an automated system with pretty looking GUI and farely active community. It takes around 1 minute for people to join your game. It is wrote in Java so it is really annoying when it freezes as you can't do anything but close it. It has an okay deckbuilder, nothing special I'm only using it because I am so new to the game.

xMage wouldn't even work for me lol it was months ago when I tried it tho.

Well, I tried UnTap it is an okay client think I might switch to it as it is easier to netdeck .

Yes I actually learned MTG from youtube but I couldn't find any platform to play it on

If there's one consistent place where I can play it on (and is free) I would gladly try it

I had the annoying pleasure of playing Magic 2015, it was awful! The tutorial is not good enough, as it does not teach you everything you need to know. Player for some reason can not muligan, while the AI opponents can. Booster packs unlock 1 card, hey one card?! Game is 10$ it is not worth your time and money! The way battlefield looks is okay, what is not okay is how hand is animated. It is hard to pick the correct card as everything is packed so closely, just for the sake of "effect". After playing this game I was not amused, and I think that everyone whom learns from this game is not really going to join the Magic community, because the game leaves a bad first impression. If you want to try out MtG, DO NOT PLAY THIS CAME IT IS NOT MAGIC.

The only digital magic game worth purchasing is the one on the xbox 360 market place (duels of the planswalker).

Personally I play MTG on an application called Cockatrice. It is a quick download and has smoother controls than Untap while also allowing decks to be pasted in from text and allowing for unlimited local storage of deck files instead of just 3. 

This is a website that has a room in the main cockatrice server that has daily scheduled single elim events and also has bi-weekly swiss events that have a prize payout. All of their events are completely free to enter and they also have a variety of unscheduled events hosted daily.
