e-hero absolute zero v.s assault stardust dragon

hi tide youdosaki here, i was in a sweet radical duel and then me and my opponent came across a duel problem. the question is if assault stardust dragon kills e-hero absolute zero, and e-hero absolute zero use his last resort eff can assault stardust dragon negate it? my opponent said it could so i just put it in the grave and still won anyways but i just wanted to know ^^ sweet huh?

"Stardust Dragon's" first effect can be activated during the Damage
Step.

The same holds true of his Assault Mode counterpart. If either Stardust Dragon or its Assault Mode is on the field when Absolute Zero is destroyed by battle or even removed from the field in any way, they can negate its effect.
