Hey there students! Heatnix here bringing you all a new event to celebrate 5 years of DA! it also is just in time for the Holidays and winter break, so consider this event a triple gift of pure amazing dueling and fun.

So, what is this and how can we participate? Simple: DA's Gym Leaders is based on the popular video game (that most of you might be already familiar with) Pokemon. We took the idea behind Gym Leaders, we worked for months on tweaking it and shaping it to fit into Duel Academy's theme which is playing Yu Gi Oh and we finally came up with this event.

The specifics of the event will be revealed a mere 2 days before it begins, and there's a good reason for that!


The winners of this event will win amazing prizes that will be revealed in exactly a week as well as the leaders and badges you must collect.

Remember, this time we'll be playing by these rules:

-Advanced TCG Banlist (September 2013) (DN OCG cards allowed)
-Best 2 out of 3 match duels
-No deck changing between the rounds
-Side decking allowed
-Confirmation of victory from Gym Leader to obtain Badge
-Banned Decks: Stun, Exodia, Burn, Mill, Stall, FTK, Dragon Rulers

Disclaimer on Dragon Rulers: After talking with my Gym Leaders, we've agreed that you may only use one kind of Dragon Ruler for tech if needed. Using no Rulers would be best, but if it's needed, you may use one of them, which means you can't have Redux and Blaster, so you'd need to choose between them etc.

In Pokemon games some Gym leaders have strong Pokemon to which you don't have access until later in the game. This is the same. Take it as a challenge. Rulers are beatable. Just use a good deck or side properly.

I still don't get the fairness init though ? If we would of been told before hand maybe the 2 decks i picked would of been more playable to beating dragon rulers, just saying got to take inconsideration some people might of only picked "funner" decks as the ban list was no mill.stall.exodia. dragon rulers and so on i mean if the deck would of been pure dragunities i would of properly won but due to the fact i lost coz of the e drgns in the deck

Well, if you'd like to make a deck change let me know as long as it sticks to the parameters of the competition.

The thing is that all these decks have been properly adjusted. It has dragon rulers but it's not really anywhere as strong as a dragon ruler deck should be. It's based more around dragunity with rulers as tech. It's a challenge, and considering the restrictions I gave to participants are minor compared to the hell I gave to gym leaders (seriously, ask them how many restrictions I gave them and how long it took for me to approve their decks =p) it shouldn't cause any issues in this.

Again, if you'd like to make a change let me know, but in due time you all will get to see the decks and probably hit your face against the wall because of the shame of losing to them =p

i just realized i need to change my gusto deck a bit since some cards in it are a bit useless...may I do it?

I hope so, since technically new trainers are always appearing.

@Faervel: Minor tweaks are accepted for a limited time! you can still make it! send them to me!

@PowerNova and Frost: Sign ups continue all the way! the only downside to this is that some people already have badges, so you'll have to work harder to catch up! =p sign up and send me your decks! just remember to read the restrictions!

You can link it or pm it, but TG Stun is not allowed. Too powerful against the severely watered down gym leader decks. Sorry! Any other deck you could provide?

Tiger Skill Drain is fine. Just send me the lists or post them here and you'll be all set!

@katiefawkes: We are currently using DN, but let me check if the Gym Leaders have YGOPro or DevPro as well, and get back to you. If they do, then I'll advice them to take on challengers on their preferred system so that everyone may compete. I can't promise anything, but I'll try.
