Light and Darkness

Against crystal beast can you use Light and Darkness to negate there eff or does your oppenent get to put them in the back row anyways?

LaDD does nothing to Crystal Beast - Monster's effect that place them to the spell/trap zone when they themselves is destroyed. Because it's a continuous effect that doesn't activate.

This. Also, note that LaDD has a mandatory effect, so you never get to "choose" when you want to use him. It doesn't matter if it's your effect or your opponent's effect. If he has enough ATK/DEF left to negate it, he will.

On further notice to the above stated facts, LaDD also can only do its magic once per chainlink.

So lets do the following duel:

Player A attacks directly with their LaDD at 2300 atk
Playber B reponds by activating Mirror Force and Enemy Controller.

Chain link goes like this:

Mirror Force= Link 1
LaDD = Link 2
E-Con= Link 3

A chainlink resolves backwards, so LaDD negates E-Con and Mirror Force nukes LaDD.

Actually, this is not true..
In this case, LaDD will negate E-Con and not Mirror Force. Since it has been activated in response to mirror force.

EDIT: Just want to make clear that you are indeed right about LaDD only activating once per chain.

I think TDP switched things up a bit. Not sure what he meant, but 1 of these 2 will happen:

Chain Link 1 - Mirror Force
Chain Link 2 - LaDD
Chain Link 3 - E-Con

E-Con does whatever it does. LaDD negates Mirror Force.

Chain Link 1 - E-Con
Chain Link 2 - LaDD
Chain Link 3 - Mirror Force

Mirror Force destoys LaDD, LaDD doesn't negate E-Con, so it does 1 of its 2 effects.
