Actually, my father is English and I did live in England for a few years, so I'm a native but I lived too long in German-speaking countries, hence why my English IRL is rusted a bit.

I can write exceptionally well in English, tho. Or at least I think so.

I know yall said no more off topic but the rest of my post will be on topic so bear with me. The dutch are so much better at speaking and writhing in English than the English or Americans are it is shameful.

English matters simply because we have to write articles and lessons without many mistakes as teachers. Also, not all US and English citizens are incompetent buffoons, just a majority of them. That holds true in the entire world though.

Oh if we're bringing up about this topic can I just say. I want a teacher who can teach me. Not tell me to run CoTH because it plays well with doomcaliber... I'm not saying names but e_e. I get they need good English to be able to be teachers, but think about it, they also need to be experienced to do something like this. Last I checked nobody wants to be taught by someone who knows as much as them.

Well, bakura, I rather prefer a teacher who knows how to write stuff and forgets some card effects from time to time than a teacher knowledgable about rulings but incompetent at writing.

Have in mind that we're all merely humans and can forget things from time to time.
Even head admins on DN are not perfect; during a match between two of them, eventually one tried to activate TWO Forbidden Lances on one and the same monster.

Now I understand that above was a legal action, but, think about it.

Anyways, my point is that being a teacher is not solely based on being good or even perfect at rulings or anything of that sort (although basics are required), but it's more of a thing of being a person who teaches other not-so-knowledgable at their things.

This may sound a bit weird, but, as a former teacher, you may know that all articles are pre-released for.correction by the fully combined article/lesson team (Teachers, basically), administration and moderation team.

Anyone who continues this argument after this post receives a warning.

The reason for why being good at English is important to a teacher is very simple. You have to take info from your head and put it in the student's head. The best way to do this is by being able to speak the language well. Additionally, it makes DA look bad to have articles on the site that are poorly written or that have bad information.

I do look at a person's background and experience as part of the hiring process. It is a mixture of good background and professional writing skills that gets a person a good review from me. I prefer to know whether English is your native language or not, not because I'm bashing other countries, but because it helps me look at tour application with a more specific perspective.

And again, anyone who continues this pointless bickering after this post will receive a warning, and it may affect the outcome of applications submitted. After all, I want people who are team players, not whiney little babies.

I have just recently been promoted to Head Teacher.

I would, but I feel I need some one to help me understand more of the rulings in the game and such. I know I could make great lessons at the very least, but I'm lacking in some of the rulings and such. Should I still try, or is it not even worth it?
