First topic message reminder :

So it's finally time for the first YCS of the format.

As you know the first YCS is very important as it ends up dictating the entire format. And even though the format is already predetermined by the trio of pesty Inzectors, loopy wind-ups and the drastic Dino rabbit, decks like Six sams, Bubble beat, TGs and Darkworld are also gaining hype and could be make things interesting if nothing else.

So what are your thought on this event and why?

i'll try to keep this thread updated with all the details.

Staring down a Solemn Judgment with a 2400 body is a lot more intimidating than just a 2400 body though

eh sure skilldrain can hurt the dino-rabbit deck somewhat (seeing as it stops TGUs and the like) but it is very plausibke to build a skilldrain rabbit deck actually im surprised there hasnt really be a skill drain deck doing good somewhere O_O guess people like dino-rabbit better with negateing indivusaly instead of negating monster effects intill skilldrain gets destroyed lol

Dino-Rabbit skilldrain would conflict with itself wayy too much

i never said to use dino-rabbit skill drain lol i just said skilldrain rabbit deck ._.

Skill Drain Rabbit is the same thing? Is it not.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA - Page 3 EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

no it isnt lol just because a deck has rabbit in it doesent mean its going to be dino-rabbit

skilldrain rabbit deck uses normale gladi beast for the glade beast with 2500 attack and no real effect and it puts them back into deck for later rabbit it also uses alius for super poly and mabey gemeni spark O_O andd it puts in beaters like barb, gear dragon thingy, and malefic cyber ene dragon, it also ues necrovalley Razz

Ahh OK then. I just assumed since we were on the Dino Rabbit topic, that's what you were referring too

Why not just throw in T-Kings and Photon Trashers while you're at it? ._.

I'm so glad that at the end all those ppl who contradicted me in DN forums when I said the most successful DW deck is the one going full speed with all the dealings and all the dragged and upstart, can pack their coffers and leave YGO. Its just, this man went even further for speed by using reckless too. I was always thinking about it, but never got the courage to play it lol.

I'm just glad that there are still people like this winner who actually do the math and try to score even if all the kids out there just yell and tell wabbits inzects and windups there is nothing else worthy playing since those decks are all so autowin. Dark Worlds became very strong after their release of new cards but the hype raised way too much so that ppl ended up excluding vital cards from main deck just to avoid hard mirror matches. Then the DWs got forgotten and all the hype around em just disappeared but their strength and speed remained. This guy saw that, put all the powerful drawing cards in the deck being sure not to get into much mirror matches or specific side cards and went full speed on all those meta decks.

you can say it was luck etc but yea at the end those that think differently from majority are the inventors in this dirty world :D

The only reason full spead dark world won is because it was unexpected and not really anyone else was running it... If everyone decides to hop back on the bandwagon, mirror matches will be happening, and people will be ready to face dw with their side like they were when they first came out.

Well, Guaiba isn't exactly the best idea if you're running Skill Drain...

again who aid anything about guaiba in it @_@

but yea after this DWs are going to come back :/

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA - Page 3 EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

Well the winner does not care what will be in the next YCS'. his plan succeeded and was not a random "lets go with a meta deck and may the best shuffle win" and thats what is important - to stop yelling about windup loops, little bugs , or carrot eaters and try to think different :D

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA - Page 3 EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

DWs just lost popularity thats it but they were still meta so the winner could have been considered as "lets go with a meta deck and may the best shuffle win" though the reckless greed was a good tech choice but its not the first time i've seen it in a DW deck ._.

I give the guy his props, he dueled great, had to've to win the largest YCS in YGO History.

I'm thinking he reopened Pandora's Box with this one, DW's were popular already, so them getting top on YCS definitely shows that they're going to do very well this format. So well that they're going to be the mass pick for most duels.

I forsee a Dark World in YGO's future...
(pun entirely intended)

Dark Worlds won't do anything huge anymore. The reason it won was because the hype of it stopped and people stopped expected it and stopped siding 5+ cards. Debunks and Shadow Mirror's were not as prevalent in side decks this YCS than previous ones when Dark World had just been released. If people pay attention to it again then it will easily be handled like the past.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA - Page 3 EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

them being unexpected is not really an issue.. almost all the players sided shadow imprisoning or Macro cosmos to counter inzectors and thats also huge against the Darkworld matchup.

and there wasnt really that much of a hype on its release either. most of the veteran players still didnt used it because the archetype depended on a few discard outlets, which people thought weren't consistent enough for big tournaments.

I think the Darkworld hype prolly will start to roll now, but the YCS these days are very unpredictable so we'll just have to wait and see :D
