So it's finally time for the first YCS of the format.

As you know the first YCS is very important as it ends up dictating the entire format. And even though the format is already predetermined by the trio of pesty Inzectors, loopy wind-ups and the drastic Dino rabbit, decks like Six sams, Bubble beat, TGs and Darkworld are also gaining hype and could be make things interesting if nothing else.

So what are your thought on this event and why?

i'll try to keep this thread updated with all the details.

Well it is almost impossible for Dino-Rabbit not to do well, and six sam are going to do something I think with the addition of the second Smoke Signal.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
wouldnt be surprised if dino rabbit ends up in the top 5

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
yea Dino rabbit usually is dominating in the major events. Yea i think we probably will see sams in top 32 imo, they can pull a lot of stuff T1, and xyz like invoker and Blade Armor ninja gives em an edge as well.

although speaking of second smoke signal, what about the second E-teleport, who knows maybe we'll even get to see something like tele dad or tele zombies.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
Why not Tele-Inzectors >_> but yeah mainly Rabbit, Wind-Up and Inzector and probably some rouge tour guide agent deck to complete things.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
Psychics just hit me as they have a lot of swarm capability with the second E-Tele, my friend played me with a Psychic deck and if you don't know how to deal with their plays they can be pretty devestating

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
Of course we all know Inzektors, Wind-Ups, and DinoRabbit will be dominating, but I also agree with Exiled. I believe that their is a chance we could see a good variant of Psychics in top 32 at least. I've been considering building a Psychic deck, but haven't gotten round to doing so due to my ridiculous schedule this week. .

i'm thinking (and i'll probably get flamed for posting my thoguht) that frogs might become popualr again this format what with sea lancer and everything it will just take them a bit of time for people to relize they are good, with the release of sea lancer, again.

but thats jsut my thought i personaly would love to see dragunities top but i doubt thats gonna happen as not to many people seem to be using them ._.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

nah dont think they'll top, no backrow and their boss just isn't enough.

idk about straight up psychics, they have a lot of floaters but haven't seen them play much.

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
well frogs can still play solemn birgade and be ok backrow wise TBH as for not having good boss well they can have sea lancer as a boss, monarchs as a boss, and obelisk or any other 3 tribut mosnter can be a boss ._.

well the final count of people attending is 4,364 the largest in YCS history (so much for people quitting for this format Razz ).

Not only that there have been variety of unexpected decks doing good at the event including Hero Beat, Chaos Dragons etc. there's even a rumor of Fortune lady heroes going X-0.

That's right fortune ladies YCS Long beach, CA 2723552638

hoping heroes kill the Big 3 for the win lol like how T.G Drain did in the last YCS

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

more_horiz
yea the skill drain is Big against any of the 3, there should be 3-5 LB in top 32 i think

So far as i read from the above posts, you all said the same nothing really interesting.

3 weeks ago, i couldn't say my opinion about this format due to the short of information that i had for each deck, however what i was doing is testing everything new and old, and everything i noticed that it could be decent if used well.

So as far as i see, from my view for this issue, Inzektors, Rabbits, Wind-up are decent decks, however, am i the only one that noticed how freaky decky easy it is to side against these decks these days?, So far i rarely see people win with these decks in matches (not single dules, since they own in that).

But seriously, these 3 decks precisely works the same, they sack monsters and without monsters effects they die, or if you somehow could stop the SS ability winning is piece of cake.

So to be honest, i think that non of Inzektors, Win up, or Rabbits are going to be top 5 in this event, top 32 well maybe, since many will use these decks obviously, But the real decks that expect to see in top 5 are TGz, Hero variants, six sams, Hieratics(or any dragons freaks) and the undoubted ... Ojama country >____<

Nah, i don't expect many variants to be top 5, but what i can say there will be many boring mirror matches for sure, and you can bet on it.

Too bad Hieratics are still OCG

@ anzo - skill drain doesent completly kill wabbit lol i actually have a skill drain wabbit deck O_O seeing as skill drain doesent stop costs it can work well with the pesky wabbit also the reason why veiler and fiendish chain are useless against wabbit XD

Top 16:

7 Dino Rabbit
2 Skill Drain Heroes
2 Wind-Ups
1 Piper Chaos
1 Chain Strike Burn
1 Wind-Up Beasts
1 Dark World
1 Inzektors

More stuff here than people seemed to think there would be. Sure there's a lot of Dino Rabbit, but only 3 Wind-Ups (and 1 is a variant) and only 1 Inzektors.

Edit:

Top 8:

3 Dino Rabbit
1 Piper Chaos
1 Skill Drain Heroes
1 Wind-Up Beasts
1 Dark World
1 Inzektors

Edit again:

Top 4:

Piper Chaos
Dino Rabbit
Skill Drain Heroes
Dark World

Aww, the Fortune Lady player didn't make it that far? That sucks...at least he got far enough.

...hold on. Piper? As in MYSTIC PIPER? Jeez, I gotta get a playset of those fast and sell them when the time is right...

descriptionYCS Long beach, CA EmptyRe: YCS Long beach, CA

the Piper Chaos deck had a feature match earlier. It's a 1-star Chaos deck basically. Looked very fun and has a lot of meta hate.

It is able to utilize so much hate, that's why it is good. It is like that Chaos Stun deck that top'd a couple jumps ago.
