Tests?

I'm not sure if my assumption is right or wrong but came onto DA and saw I was still a Slifer and wanted to do a test to move up but after look at the Staff Positions Post, I'm assuming that their isn't going to be testing for awhile?

There is two types of systems you would expect in an Academy: Testing System and Ranking System.

Here at DA we're using a Ranking System, meaning there is no testing. You simple start as Slifer-Red and Rank-up to higher dorms by participating in events and winning tournaments. There is more information about this in our guide.
