The City of Babylon

Welcome to yet another Pro Decklist, this time we'll be taking on a  Chronomaly deck that deserved a spot into our Pro Decklists collection.

The deck mainly focuses on XYZ-summoning using effects of monsters, with the help of Chronomaly City Babylon.


Chronomaly is an archetype featured in the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL and first introduced in the Return of the Duelist set. Most of the Chronomaly are LIGHT and Machine or Rock type, they focus on swarming the field with level 3, 4 and 5 monsters.


Nebra Disk and Crystal Skull are the main 2 monsters who get this going, with their searching abilities. The deck struggles greatly without one or the other.

Deck Core: A little introduction to the deck's main cards and their use.

Chronomaly Nebra Disk: The Searcher!! When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Chronomaly" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Chronomaly Nebra Disk".  ALSO If it is in your Graveyard, and all the other monsters you control are "Chronomaly" monsters (min 1): You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position; however, you cannot activate cards or effects the turn you activate this effect, except "Chronomaly" cards. You can only use 1 "Chronomaly Nebra Disk" effect per turn, and only once that turn.



Chronomaly Golden Jet: Once per turn: You can increase the Level of all "Chronomaly" monsters you currently control by 1. It allows you to Xyz Summon between 4 or 5 (could even be more if you control more than one copy).



Chronomaly Tula Guardian: If there is a face-up field spell card on the field: you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only control 1 "Chronomaly Tula Guardian". Note that It doesn't need to be your field spell, your opponent's count as well. You could combo this card with Golden Jet to XYZ summon a Rank 5 XYZ monster.



Chronomaly Moai: If you control a face-up "Chronomaly" monster: you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in face-up Defense Position. You can also combo this card with Golden jet, similar to Chronomaly Tula Guardian.



Chronomaly Crystal Bones:  It's one of the main cards in this deck. If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters: you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). When you do: You can Special-summon 1 "Chronomaly" monster from your hand or Graveyard, except "Chronomaly Crystal Bones".  As You can see you have Infinite plays here. I'll list a few:
1. you can Xyz summon from Rank 3 to 5 easily.
2. Special summon Crystal Bones, Special Summon Golden Jet; use its effects, then you can Normal Summon OR Special Summon Nebra Disk from Graveyard - or you can Xyz Summon Gorgonic Guardian.



Chronomaly Crystal Skull: The second main searcher. If you control a face-up "Chronomaly" monster; You can discard this card to the Graveyard: add 1 "Chronomaly" monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, except "Chronomaly Crystal Skull". The effect of "Chronomaly Crystal Skull" can only be used once per turn. There is not much to say here, you should know when to use this card for better hand control.

Chronomaly Gordian Knot: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Chronomaly" monster from your hand, and if you do, this card's Level becomes the current Level of that Special Summoned monster. Yoy can Special Summon Tula Guardian even without a Fiel or Golden Jet. You can Xyz Summon from Rank 3 to Rank 5 XYZ monster just like that.



Honest: The card relies heavily on LIGHT-attribute monsters, this guy just makes it a little bit extra shiny for your opponent's taste.



Gorgonic Guardian:  
2 Level 3 Rock-Type monsters.
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes 0, and if it does, its effects are negated. These effects last until the end of this turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field with 0 ATK; destroy it.
- This card is basically a "destroy one monster on the field and you can't do anything about it" kind of effect. It's also ridiculously easy to summon which adds acid to the rain.



Chronomaly City Babylon: Once per turn: You can banish 1 "Chronomaly" monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Chronomaly" monster in your Graveyard with the same Level as the banished monster; Special Summon it.
- It's hard to lose field control with this card, It basically enables you to make some epic combos even from your graveyard with the addition Special Summon that this card provides.


The deck has also got OTK potential, with the aid of XYZ monsters: Machu Mechu and Fork Hoyuk.




1) It requires you to have Crystal Bones and Golden Jet in your handhand; Nebra Disk in grave, and Crystal Skull either in your graveyard or in your hand.

2) Special Summon Crystal Bones; and use It's effect to Special Summon Crystal Skull.

3) Special Summon Nebra Disk with it's own effect.

4) Normal Summon Golden Jet and use It's effect to level up all of your Chronomaly monsters.

5) Xyz Summon Fork Hoyuk and Machu Mechu.

6) Use their effects and OTK.
