Some of you might get this as offensive, but the gear needs to spin somehow so here you are, reading my post, my suggestion, you really don't know if it's a suggestion but you follow your reasoning and it says suggestions go in this section so you know it is one. What an amazing diversion played by your mind. Indeed, we are great creatures.

Here you are, opening my post and the lovely name of mine makes a small push to your heart beat in hope that this post, that it brings some fresh air in this dusty place, that something will happen here again, that the gear will be freed from the rust. Yet again, it's just a simple post, a post that brings letters and not miracles after all. And when your hopes are vanishing again, there is a weird feeling that you have, that something is not proper with this thread. Don't worry, it is just the poetic style that I use, nothing too fancy, it will be an absurd suggestion, again in my style.

I know the summer is here, we can feel the heat, but it wasn't too long ago when you injected hopes to people around here, that this place is going to get its shine and glory back?! Yes, you promised it will happen slowly, yet the people only heard "will happen" where the word "slowly" was blurred away. So here we are, months have gone, the water is still very calm and it is the happy summer. Why are we frozen during the time of sweat, so distant from the winter, when we know it's coming. Yes my folks, don't worry we can survive the winter, it is not the end of the world, but even the bear forgets where he left the honey after such a winter sleep. By now you should have felt the irony of the phrase "don't worry"...

Wall-post story short, here I am, using my cyber fame to propose a wonderful idea:

"Duel Academy how about you wake up?"

You hoped for something better than this, but why didn't you listen, I already told you it will be an absurd suggestion, you obviously don't ask a bear such a question, because if you do, there is a big chance that he might not hear you, cuz he is asleep, you know. Yet, you cannot say this belongs to another section, technically it is kind of a suggestion and you have to be happy because posts like these, in these times of deep sleep, they happen once in a decade. At least you got one more thread other than world cup worth replying to.

For those who are not poetically oriented let me transgoogleate it for you:

Without staff that can lift a finger at least, members are like bots without orders. They login, do nothing and then logout. So how about you do something and then we reply to that something lol. Quite a suggestion, right? Yes, sometimes you need to invent the warm water again. Shiz like that happens.

Sorry for this but I had to, I need a quality response if nothing, a heart beat perhaps, so that I know this place is still living.

Oh I wouldn't say that there's no saving Forumotion DA. I'd say this DA is like an empire. It was once mighty and strong, and now it's falling apart, and people are just refusing to acknowledge it. They think that if they ignore that problem, it'll go away. If those in charge start paying attention a little more, then DA will be saved. But if DA continues to go the path that it's headed right now, you're completely right.

Probably going to get a warning for this, but hey, if freedom of speech is a crime, execute me.

But instead of talking about the problem, lets try to get some solutions. Simply because while you state the problem, you could be looking for a solution xD

But honestly one thing you said is wrong......the ones in charge arent the only ones who need to make a effort. We all need to. Just like you said the people in charge need to pay attention, people in the academy need to pay attention as well. So we all share some part of the blame in this. But this can all change if we pool together our ideas for solutions,instead of crying about the problem. Nothing will get done unless we all work together as a team. So throw away your egos(Rika) and lets start a gameplan on how to revive DA.

Hope that my mini post did sum good. If i still see complaints i guess it didnt do any gewd.

Maybe if people were more about finding solutions and taking action, instead of crying and ALWAYS finding problems, maybe i wouldnt have to be abrasive.

I can't promise this'll work, buuuuuuttttt...

I used to be on a YGO forum that managed to extend its life for like a month or two by halfway turning into an RP forum. I suggest using the section you already have to create an original RP that the members can all have some sort of stake in. Not necessarily YGO related, either. Just a thought :\

Its the admin team. We don't feel their presence at all. When they are not active and motivated to do stuff, members feel the same. With no action you can't expect any reaction.

There are two problems in the above statement. First is that it's a Staff member saying something quite negative about a student. The second that it's picking on N.

Staff members being mean to students gives the staff a bad rep to newcomers. Staff in the academy are people that others should look up to, and what 5tar is displaying right here isn't exactly the most positive thing. While it's true that this is an online forum where people volunteer, public displays of aggression and negativity by staff towards students pushes people away. This kind of stuff is the exact reason why my OA Lodge no longer volunteers up at our Boy Scout winter camp. The staff there were painfully negative and flat out rude towards the Scouts that came to have a fun time.

Now specifically picking on Rika is also a bad thing. While I do admit, Rika can sometimes be frustrating to talk to (this stemming from a variety of issues from both Rika and the person she is socialising with), there's no real reason to pick on her to the extensive amount most people in this academy do. Not only is it unfair to N to harass her, doing it in public reflects negatively on the academy as a whole. Most of the students who don't realise that it's really just N that gets picked on probably leave, or don't join at all, not wanting to get harassed themselves.

All of this also adds up when compared to the rules of the academy, which state

And yet, guess how many people PM me with a legitimate complaint since that rule was enacted. One. ONE. I updated with that rule a year ago, I wish people would do something with it and talk to me. I can't see everything that's going on.

To Amy: You don't see a lot out of me, but here's how it is right now - you've got two or three Admins taking care of everything. I've found a niche in being the representative to staff, replacing those inactive with new ones, ensuring that they are taken care of. Staff have needs, just like users. I'm sorry I'm not more public with what I do, but it comes down to this - if you bring it to my attention, I will handle it.

As to Rika, the rules apply to everyone, having the tendency to mock things N isn't a part of, isn't the best way to get a point across.
I'd imagine Rika calling the place retarded will have a bigger impact on people joining.
Both sides are at fault here, this isn't a kindergarten, Rika n Black can just apologize and both stop posting unless they actually are trying to contribute.

Administrators are expected to review and get back to people regarding staff in a timely manner. In these cases, I had all three applications come in, and it took me a couple of days to post them to the Admins' section. However, I assure you they were not chosen with haste. I reviewed each application prior to posting it, and posted a recommendation to the staff as to what to do with said application.

If this is considered careless, very well, but I assure you that there were no hasty decisions made, and I can assure you that each staffer waited approximately a week prior to being promoted to staff.

However, this is something best discussed on another thread. I am working on ideas for Duel Academy, not some site that likes spamming, and I hope everyone understands that.

It does not matter if they have been here a week or if they've been here a year. They must act professionally. Older members should not be able to tell how long they've been on staff by the way they act. And newer members aren't going to know how long they've been on staff, and won't give them a break. Each and every staff member needs to act professionally while they are on Duel Academy.

Both sides are not at fault here. While Rika's comments are sometimes distasteful and do not shed a positive light on the academy, that is no reason to respond with such an insult. Staff members should be able to handle their emotions and respond calmly with a more appropriate response, more along the lines of asking Rika politely to try and convey her point in a more mature manner. As a staff member, I too had trouble with many members of DA being rude and leaving distasteful comments about the academy and myself, so I know how it feels to be pushed around by members. But as staff, you must, must, must act like this is a professional work environment, otherwise it falls apart.

I must say, this is the only part of your statement I agree with. Rika can be too harsh sometimes, and as a long staying, highly ranked member of the academy, making such statements can be harmful. Alas, Rika is Rika, and the more sensible staff members have been trying their best to change her tune for a while so that her critiquing is not so harsh. But unless we improve the staff approach to dealing with members that they don't get along with, I doubt Rika will change. With the amount of shit she's been through here and at other places, most other members would've outright quit, or committed suicide because of cyber-bullying.

Da is starting remind me of my country.It's shitty, the administration is shitty, the people are shitty, tho i still love it.If the staff think can't do better, give the job to someone who can.Same as my country, old guys should leave the job to the new ones.It's that simple.It's normal to give it to the new guys.You are doing this shit from so long, it doesn't really keep your interest that much, they are more full of energy for doing those things than you and will probably do it better.Old guys are all kinda lazy, busy and not so in spare that much time in this.They can still get in here from time to time, join in tournies, but they can't really take care of the forum.
