(2) During your Main Phase: You can inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

(3) If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 “Ancient Gear” monster from your Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions.

Continuous Trap Card

(1) You only control 1 “Ancient Gear Reborn”.

(2) Once per turn, if you control no monsters: you can target 1 “Ancient Gear” monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. It gains 200 ATK.

You are missing quite a lot of the functionality here. Reborn isn't limited to reviving one set thing, it'll be live whenever you don't have a board, so there's plenty of functionality with the stratos of the deck. Not to mention you can chain the effect to ancient gear catapult to get an extra summon. It's pretty fantastic imo.

As for Fiend, what really matters is that he is entirely generic for hunting hound, and for a theme with such a high damage output, a Gagaga Cowboy is always appreciated. Not to mention walking lightning bait is fun.
