Let's talk history

There is a lot of things I'd like to talk about regarding this game..

When I first started playing online, back in 2008, everyone used to use KCVDS. Anyone knows what happened to it? Last time i asked Seto said he was working on a new project. Also the website seems to be down - for quite sometime now.

So, yea, lets start by answering that^

He told everybody that he was working on a browser based dueling system. However, making one by yourself is just not worth the time and effort if you're not using flash. Dueling Network only worked because it was revolutionary and we didn't have to deal with hackers or port forwarding, or any of that bullshit. Trying to take away DN's success would be 50/50 imo. Even if ygopro was browser based, and Potus actually paid somebody to convert ygopro to the browser platform and the guy had no idea where to begin.

But i do miss the old kcvds interface and stuff. It had a nostalgic feeling to it. And a halfway decent theme. You would not believe how much DN's interface and design actually bothers me.

I just miss the kcvds skins and catching kyosuke kiryu using the milenium eye cheat ;s

But yea, I'm kinda sad. The old KCVDS both game and site has a MUCH cooler feeling to it compared to DN and YGOPro.

Also, what was that about Potus @Dex ? I thought he just left the game..

There was a project porting Dueling Network to server-side JavaScript, it was dropped due to problems cooperating with DN. In its essence, the change would have made DN faster and accessible on every browser without a plugin, reducing the memory load and it also wouldn't crash as easily as DN does.

Na he was trying to make a duel system to put DN out of business so he gave his money to a fake Seto Kaiba in hopes of making the perfect duel system but fake seto was a hacker who put hidden trojans in all the Ygo Pro Dawn of the New Era duel systems. Then Potus saw he got screwed and disappeared.

Oh Alu had some shit to do with it forgot what his involvement was

He didn't do anything to the ygopro files. Potus didn't get screwed either. The project was deemed impossible by the guy he hired, and he gave a partial refund. Partial, because a certain percentage is given to a third party. And also, you need to pay double that percentage if you issue a full refund. At least I think...

I stopped really playing at DN for one reason
The whole damn game was so slow. You'd have to click and wait for animations 2x slower than kc and I hated it.

DN just sucks it general, it's visuals are worse then a 70's porno, it's slow as fuck aswell you've got to 'k?' every move you make, it's filled with faggots who don't know correct rulings aswell as cheaters, people AFK if things arnt going there way. The only good thing about it is that's is browserd based so you can play from any where. I only use it for it here and that's it's.

Seto and Kissara have been living together since around the end of BC and the making of KC, like 3 years ago (I might be 1 year off) they finally got married. Dunno anything else, they are in their 30s now.

Okay, so there is no hope for KCVDS or the KC community to come back? It sort of makes me disappointed after all that promises :<

many KC guys login occasionaly on DN (Johan, Yami Burak, nippie, I even saw strikemasterice a year ago) but I don't think there's a chance the KC community will actually come back.

Yea, John and Shadow both log-in to DA once in a while so I know they're still lurking around.

A lot of oldies lurk. I caught BM from time to time too.
