World Cup Brazil 2014!

First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the DA World Cup thread for 2014! Please feel free to discuss anything to do with the tournament and make bets on the games.

Betting Rules:
Bets must be placed 20 mins before the game begins at minimum

The winner claims all of the losers betted DP (and his own)

You can bet on a single game, you do not have to bet on each round of the cup.

If the winner is tied then split the pot between them.

If the result is a draw then DP returns to the participants, unless a participant predicted a tie in which case they win in the normal manner.

Minimum Bets:
- Group stages are 500 DP
- Last 16 and quarter finals 1000 DP
- Semi finals 2500 DP
- Final 5000 DP

If a participant would end up getting less than 100 DP winnings profit or a loss on their bet when the pot is split then they will gain double the betted DP instead. This ensures you can benefit from big risk high DP bets.

Since it appears mainly staff are betting I'm hoping you can manage the DP transfers as obviously I can't! Sorry to the new members of DA who can't afford to bet but to be fair neither can I.

Oh and here is Shakira with the cup anthem...well that and she is the hotest 37 year old ever!

Algeria deserved the win, but o well.

Argentina keeps winning without deserving it. They're playing horribly and always manage to score ONCE right before the thing is over =p

They did okay.

They did okay and it was close, but it's "Argentina", considered second best to Brazil who is also doing pretty bleh. They were *supposed* to just brush off Switzerland, but didn't.

They couldn't defend 2 more min... dammit gj tho Switzerland lets go U S A, U S A

This World Cup is just weird, Heatnix, like just take a look at Costa Rica, they shouldn't be where they are right now lol and Germany wasn't supposed to suffer that much against Algeria, also Spain wasn't supposed to lose to Netherlands that hard. Since Day 1 this was inevitable, this is not an ordinary World Cup.

I know, Anzo, that's why it's awesome! So many goals, so many tight victories, underdogs actually doing stuff, big ones being lame.

Go USA! they're doing great right now.

Belgium is one of those decent teams that actually does decent in the WC

France vs Germany will be amazing. I hope Germany wins, but France has shown a lot of skill in these past games.

I'm glad Germany won. It was a good game and showed lots of skill from both sides.

Now, Brazil vs Colombia is pretty sad. Brazilian players are playing like thugs, beating players down and taking dives and because they have the advantage in both fans and field, the refs have been letting them get their way from the start, and it shows a lot more now.

Neymar is out of world cup, fuck you Colombia, in the anus.
