World Cup Brazil 2014!

Welcome to the DA World Cup thread for 2014! Please feel free to discuss anything to do with the tournament and make bets on the games.

Betting Rules:
Bets must be placed 20 mins before the game begins at minimum

The winner claims all of the losers betted DP (and his own)

You can bet on a single game, you do not have to bet on each round of the cup.

If the winner is tied then split the pot between them.

If the result is a draw then DP returns to the participants, unless a participant predicted a tie in which case they win in the normal manner.

Minimum Bets:
- Group stages are 500 DP
- Last 16 and quarter finals 1000 DP
- Semi finals 2500 DP
- Final 5000 DP

If a participant would end up getting less than 100 DP winnings profit or a loss on their bet when the pot is split then they will gain double the betted DP instead. This ensures you can benefit from big risk high DP bets.

Since it appears mainly staff are betting I'm hoping you can manage the DP transfers as obviously I can't! Sorry to the new members of DA who can't afford to bet but to be fair neither can I.

Oh and here is Shakira with the cup anthem...well that and she is the hotest 37 year old ever!

Shame Reus is injured but they have a solid team going into this! Hoping Ozil shines again though as being a Spurs fan I nearly died inside when he went to Arsenal!

Haha thought I may as well ask it! No question that Brazil will win but I feel Croatia may get 1 goal from Mandzukic or Modric. Brazil will probably get 3/4 though.

Nwah Croatia is going to be wrecked by Brazil the teams are just too off balanced to make it a close game

Plus Brazil being hosts will just add to the teams intensity. Hoping we see a lot of skills and tricks from Brazil. I need to prepare some snacks now though!

I just wish Japan can win

it was terribly executed defense....

If I'm honest in terms of defence Alves has been shocking so far, he can't seem to make a tackle. It's allowing Ollic to do more damage than he should.

Nothing really but they never win anything no offense, but I like some players in the team like lloris and Soldado and many more, but general talk.

Rape mode has been engaged. I feel they will really set off in the 2nd half!

Oh yeah Spurs don't do winning things but I really like the fact they are competitive underdogs. Plus I have a family link to that part of London so I rather need to support them!
