Honestly, I like it. It's a lot more cost efficient. And is a lot more sufficient for younger gamers since it doesn't has 3D and a more friendly design. A pad. :3

Lol playing 3d games in 2d AMAZING Nintendo is genius but if people wanted to play in 2D couldn't they just turn the 3D off once again Nintendo is truly genius. Cant wait for Nintendo to make the 5DS so a year later I can get the 4D

Eeer... if you guys read the official statement, this one is meant to have a focus on kids. I'm talking 7 and under. It is also considerably cheaper.

Regardless of what options about the 3D effect the original 3DS has, soccer moms will always complain about these things, which is why they release a more kid friendly handheld for those who are afraid of the damage 3D can do on developing eyes or for kids who are starting into gaming and want a first handheld. Aside from that, it's also really cheap. It appeals to people who can't afford the current, and most popular, XL version of the 3DS.

It's nothing but an alternative for the wee ones and not really designed to cater to any of us reading this... unless... someone reading this is under the age of 7... in which case, I approve of their complaining.

I know Heatnix I read that statement :/ You just don't get why I'm not getting why this is a thing. I just don't get why these soccer moms can't get their kids to understand the basic concept of "Turn off 3D"

I guess if the kid doesn't already have a 3DS then it could be something for them to do

You would be surprised how many complaints on the original 3DS raised on "there should be a way to turn the 3D off" and I'm serious.... plenty of complaints...

On the soccer mom issue, do remember a kid was just sent to jail because he said he would kill a bunch of people at random in a chat in LoL and a soccer mom catched a glimpse of this, and to "protect her children" she caused a stir that sent the kid, who was being sarcastic, to jail.

He didn't commit a crime, and has been in jail for a while and could stay there for 8 years. He can come out at the age of 26, no education, no skills, no job and a criminal record. All because a soccer mom didn't like his sarcastic comment in a game's chat.

Never underestimate the power of soccer moms.

On a more business-related topic, it's 70$ less than the just recently price cut Vita, and it comes out along with Pokemon X and Y. It's just too affordable even if lame looking.

These mums have a way of ruining fun things.

Because they're out there, Nintendo probably had to produce this thing, and now will waste their money developing it to cater to a much smaller audience, making it so that they're another step closer to falling out of the gaming world, which would be terrible.

I don't want to see Pokemon sold to Disney, nor do I want to see Metroid sold to Microsoft.

Because then we'd be catching Mickey Mouse in a Pokeball and meeting Samus in the middle of Halo in a Master Chief uniform.

It doesn't seem like comfortable to hold in hand, just my opinion.

Yeah I agree... the placement of the buttons considering there's games that need a lot of touch screen stuff... just doesn't look comfortable.

those statements about a way to turn 3ds mode in console don't mean turn it off like you normally do, but like prevent the 3ds mode to be turned on, like blocking tv channels and some internet sites, like 4chan, porn, and yugioh forums
