It's that time of the week again! (Yaaaay!)
Today, we'll be having a look at this card:
Right now, for those of you who are unfamiliar with this card, you're probably thinking that this card has an annoying effect and it probably isn't too useful in a deck. True. You have to play a card and then return it to the hand in order for it to attack. The cost of it is basically nothing if you have a spell or trap in your hand and it simply gives you a 2000 beater. However, if we mix it with other cards, that's where the damage to your opponent really comes in.
Cards like this can also be used to re-use cards. For example, if Call of the Haunted is activated and the monster it summoned is removed from the field by any means except destroying, you can return it to the hand and re-use it to spam out more cards from the grave. Even if it is destroyed when you set it, it's at least better than having a dead card in your S/T zone.
-Activate Call of the Haunted to target Mist Valley Falcon
-Summon a Level 3 Tuner and sync for Mist Valley Thunder Lord
-Call of the Haunted remains on the field because Mist Valley Falcon was used as a synchro material and wasn't destroyed
-Activate the effect of Mist Valley Thunder Lord to return Call of the Haunted to the hand
Just like that, you have a 3100 beatstick without any minuses. Such a combo could lead to a situation where you abuse the effect of Sangan. Imagine all the pluses that will lead to...
Take a look at these cards:
Take note of the last part of their effects. When used with Mist Valley Falcon, it's a broken combo that can be re-used over and over.
-Summon Mist Valley Falcon
-Equip Big Bang Shot to an enemy monster
-Declare an attack with Mist Valley Falcon and return Big Bang Shot to the hand
-Monster Equipped with Big Bang Shot is immediately banished
-Mist Valley Falcon attacks
Just like that, your opponent gets a -1 and, usually, you attack them directly and deal a whopping 2000 points of damage.
This card is a part of an archetype so you can also easily make a deck out of this one strategy of returning cards to your hand. And don't worry if you run out of Mist Valley Falcons because there are other cards out there with the same effects and even support cards like:
So, I hope you've enjoyed the Combo and Strategy Discussion this week. I've given things a bit of a make-over so it looks a bit more formal and organised. A bit like a mini-article, I like to think of it as. Also, if there are any cards that you like and would like me to do some research into them to stick them into a cool deck, feel free to post below!
Until next week!

Today, we'll be having a look at this card:
Mist Valley Falcon :
This card cannot declare an attack unless you return 1 card you control to its owner's hand.

Big Bang Shot :
The equipped monster gains 400 ATK. If the equipped monster attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card leaves the field, banish the equipped monster.
Safe Zone :
Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster on the field. It cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects, it cannot be destroyed by battle, and it cannot attack your opponent directly. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.
Dragunity Darkspear :
Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster to select and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Winged Beast-Type monster from your Graveyard.
When you return a card to the hand with Mist Valley Falcon, it must attack. No buts about it. It cannot return itself, and, most importantly, when it returns a card like Big Bang Shot while it's equipped to an enemy monster, you will get a replay attack but you will NOT return another card.
So, I hope you've enjoyed the Combo and Strategy Discussion this week. I've given things a bit of a make-over so it looks a bit more formal and organised. Until next week!
