Chatbox Screens of breaking the rules.

First topic message reminder :

Here you will post me screens of any situation you see in chatbox that breaks the new DA rules for chatbox (read em, paragraph 12).

It also counts whole staff below Admins. So I guess this is where you also as staff stop using bad words and similar abuses and start to follow what i wrote there in the rules. If you got a problem or you find yourself in a situation where you will involve yourself in an argue or some other member is being disrespectful to you or others, you don't fight back, you screen and post it here to me. Then I simply Ban. Problem solved, no more endless discussions argues and stuff like that.

Irate, i'm one of those people who always says "recognize jokes before you take it as an insult", but if your jokes are never fun to a certain people, then it's either you stop joking with them or you change the way you tell your jokes, if it's funny to a 100 member, and yet it annoys the living shit out of 10 members then it's a bad joke.

This just makes my point, where do we draw the line. I say when people start using words as fucking. And then right after I warn someone a mod does the exact same thing........

It shouldnt be a matter of being offended. I mean why should you ( real staff ) allow swearing..., its just a step closer to actual banhammer times. IMO if you warn at swearing you wont have to ban people for real seeing you get the message through sooner and thus keeping your members. If you need to ban them ( either from the chat or the forum ) you either lose them entirely or things will be sad about the forum ( in a bad nature ) which will result in member loss.

Seeing we as DA wish to have a decent member count and an active forum ( succesrate ) I guess that is what matters most ( to keep the members we have, gain new ones and have a respected forum ). Swearing does not fit into that imo, but I might be mistaken about the goals and code conducts on DA...

OK, without patronization, what I'm saying is that people are gonna swear. We can't stop it, we won't stop it, and we don't really want to stop it. The thing with swear words... is that in many uses and cultures they are fine. DA, while using english primarily with very small amounts of other languages in chats, is still a multicultural society. And other cultures pop out words that are offensive in some other cultures. Take the germans for example. They use "shit" like diarrhea on laxatives. But some people in other countries might find it offensive. It's just cultures. And there's no way we're changing the culture we have here.

The other thing is that we would warn people who used swear words excessively. It's one thing saying "This is shit" or something, and that's all fine, but if someone used "Fucking hell what the fuck is happening with you dirty shitbags" or something excessive/aimed to offend people, then it would be a serious matter. We aren't going to stop people swearing. In most cases it does no harm. And if it was banned, then the people who were actually being offensive wouldn't give a damn because they're already breaking one rule. Banning swear words would not do anything except make a majority of this community break a rule accidentally on a regular basis. It would not help the community in any way, but instead persecute 90% of DA's current activity. There is no reason to do this.

If we warned people at swearing, it wouldn't stop people. We warn them at being offensive. Heck, we temp-ban them at being offensive. If we push it down a stage it'll get people all riled up about "abuse" and suchlike, and will whip up more chaos and confusion than would have happened otherwise. It's better to punish people after they've done something than before they've done it. I mean, sure, we shouldn't just let them do things so that we can catch them, but we give people more than enough warning as it is. DA currently works. And if it isn't broken, then don't fix it.

A newbie with a similar name appeared today. He hasn't done anything yet, but he seemed to know his way around the site, and, by the looks of things, made his DN account about an hour after the events of yesterday.

BWG slacking

So did he duel himself for duelist kingdom? The funny thing about that... is that the "Jack Anderson" guy who popped up... asked about duelist kingdom. He got onto the chatbox, and asked about duelist kingdom straight away. Nothing like "Hi, I'm new" or "I'm some noob who doesn't know the rules someone test me blaa", but instead he asked about the duelist kingdom event. And then he went afk or something.

Why would mods hack DA? ._. As far as I know Mods have had the power to check IP since forever and they didn't hack DA :/ I remember one incident but that was long ago. Plus Amy to boss of a coder no one can get pass it e.e

mods haven't been able to check IPs since I was a mod.

Stuff like this does not need to be happening on chat. This chat is frequented by younger children, and this kind of stuff is definitely not appropriate for them, or anyone for that matter. I know the fact that this happens is nothing new, but I just had to point it out.
