Warning: Before leaving after you see the long paragraph of typing, you need to know this, DA might get shut down for this. I posted this so this can get your attention to fight back if you want to save DA from shutting down.

well as you may or may not know, our so called government is trying to pass out a bill called SOPA/PIPA. Which this will eliminate anything that contains copyrights or infringement in their websites. Which means Youtube will be down! Facebook will be down!(which i dont really care for much) Google might be down! We dont know how much power our government has on the internet but don't you think this act is against the constitution that we all fought for? Are we going to end up like China? Are we going to let this happen? Right now as we speak MegaUpload, our number one fav site for downloads for anime and stuff, has SHUT DOWN! FOR REAL! check it out and be shock. 7 were arrested, few killed, and 3 or so escaped. A famous group of hackers known as Anonymous is now working their way to stop this injustice that has been taken from our freedom. Right now they just hacked into government websites one after another and telling the government this is only the beginning! Be prepare people of DA that one day (or i hope this will never happen) that this website might be endanger by this bill. Please lets fight back and gain back our freedom of privacy and speech. Lets show these politician that whatever they are doing is the total opposite what the citizens of the United States are asking for and hope that DA won't ever get shut down.
THIS IS FOR REAL GUYS!

Comment, chat and discuss on how you feel about this.

^That is no only for the US >_> they are trying to shut down sites all over the world. Even in my country there are a few Sopa/Pipa bills D: and I mean WTF, they simply cannot mess with other county's laws like that. The thing that the US government wants to control the Internet was known for ages but no one did something to stop it. No offense US people, simply your laws are idiotic thats all and they mess up the rest of the world as well simply because your government wants to control something as vast as the Internet. As for DA I don't think they can close it, 1 mostly all the things in DA were made by EJ, the owner of the Site.2 The updates and such were made by Anzo and Amy and they have ownership rights on them and they can't touch that.

Ya we just talk about ygo here that's all. even IF some things are "stolen" like for example someone uses another persons signature or avatar lol, they cannot accuse someone for it simply because all those are free things and no one has copyright on them Razz My html codes can be stolen or anzo's banners no matter if we wrote copyright there lol. we own nothing.

But ya, DA will lose purpose if DN and all other dueling systems get shut down by those laws. Wikipedia did great thing to raise the voice of people all over the world. Megaupload is just the force they try to push (happened already with "terrorists") to achieve their goal like screw the voice of people we will strike no matter what lol. But that will stop one day for sure its just the matter of time when the whole world will be against america and break its "democracy" down in pieces.

You watch too much movies, my friend. There has always been such shares and these sites have always been strictly monitored. Here in my country, the special forces few times closed several major pirate sites and when everything settles, sites were reopened by other names. This is just an act that have to show that the government give a ****** about all this bitches that are crying for their copyrights and shits. + money ofc.

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

I hope you guys realize that all this isn't to censor anything or to "protect copyrighted material." Theres been a pattern going on with new legislation's passed by the U.S. government that lead to this. Smile

TBH i dont think you fully understand it :/ what the goverment is TRYING to do is stop pirating sure that acts kinds contridicts itself with 1st admenment yes and i agree they shouldnt do it but eh we also need soemthing done about online pirates :/ plus i think your blowing it out of porpirtion and i srsly doubt the goverment will worry about small sites like this what they will be worrying about are the big company sites that get pirated but eh im not saying they should do it as it contridicts witht he 1st admenment but you should also understand WHY they are trying to do it

ok now train US isnt the only country with stupid laws/chorupted goverment EVERY country out there has stupid laws and a chorupted goverment and thats the plain truth unfourtantly

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

^Give me an example of any other country that has laws that contradict themselves like in the US. By this law the contend of this site *insert site name here* is copyright and we have to close it. Oh but by this law the content is not copyright and it's fare use and that begins an unending cycle.

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

I understand this act perfectly and I do agree with it to some extent, but being someone who (unfortunately) is interested in the philosophy of politics I tend to read between the lines of any legislation thats passed by a government. Simply put; if this law was to pass don't think it would've been passed a long time ago? Perhaps before the Martial Law?

You guys have to understand that passing a law isn't something to overlook as a simple thing. Theres a reason behind this law and you must be foolish to think that its purpose is so that already-billion dollar companies can make more money.

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

there is no such thing like stopping piracy as a moral act. the laws that want to stop it are made by other pirates which are just angry that the gold is going somewhere else and not in their own pocket. US wants control over the internet as it wants the control over the oil in countries that are rich with it. same story, just another page. if you can't see it then you know nothing about this world lol.

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

^Hit the nail on the head. CONTROL!Its politicians and governments favorite word!!!

This obviously isn't to stop piracy, its simply to have control over ANOTHER aspect of ones life.

By the way... Megaupload was taken down by the FBI. It's back up as
Megavideo.bz

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

1. no one was killed
2. anonymous isn't one big super hacker group, its individual people working independently or in really small groups. and I really doubt they've been able to hack into government sites again. and if they were to that wouldn't stop anything.
3. YouTube and Facebook owners wouldn't allow their sites to get taken down. so more than likely they will just perma-ban members that break the laws.
4. Megaupload getting taken down had nothing to do with SOPA. cuz ... SOPA hasnt even passed yet. megaupload broke the law, they were taken down. Its good this happened cuz it shows that the laws we have inplace now work perfectly fine.

if you want to help, call your Senator and congressmen.

I kinda hate when people refer to todays situations as "conspiracies." Occupy Wall Street isn't a "conspiracy." The riots in my country (Greece) aren't a "conspiracy." These are things that are actually happening. People are actually fighting for their freedom now; for their constitutional rights that a bunch of boneheaded Political Science Ph.D politicians that graduated from Harvard University are trying to take away...I'll give y'all an example:

UC Berkeley (University) is a public (meaning funded by the state of California) University that is raising tuition prices by 80% for the next fall semester. 80% raise for a PUBLIC university. But thats besides the point...when a bunch of their students organized in a polite and peaceful manner to strike for their RIGHT at a public education, they were ambushed by *I'm gonna say it :O* FASCIST police officers that were hitting them and spraying them with pepper spray. And for what? For their right to a free education.

That is one of many cases in the world, I just thought this would be more universal. Anyways if you guys still think all this ***** is conspiracy then your just eating up whatever the media is throwing at you. Learn to read between the lines and look a bit deeper into laws set by governments. Do you REALLY think they did this so that multi-BILLION (yes thats 9 zero's) dollar corporations don't get scammed?

This did happen.

Also, Staxx I'm just pointing it out for people who haven't noticied. But imagine. If SOPA and PIPA pass then not just MU but also Mediafire, 4shared, etc etc etc

There is mucher deeper things than just "happening". Just now I listened to scientist David Incke who explained everything very well. Weather and geological wars will take that place instead of gun wars. It is happening already: Earhquake and tsunami at Haiti, nuclear disaster at Japan, Arabian spring. They want to have ALL RESOURCES and information is most precious resources

I could give a ***** less about anything thats outside of the control of the people. Now if you really think this is the main issue right now, so be it. Personally, I'd rather die with my rights than live without them.

WOOT VICTORY TO THE PEOPLE!

My teacher told me in my Legal class (as we had analyzed the issue, while it was only for a short peroid of time), and this was intended to stop, in layman's terms, foreign people from stealing American business.

Now whether or not the Government make have taken advantage of it to shut down FB and all the lovely sites that could have been shut down because of this is beyond my analysis.

Basically, the government aimed to take down foreign companies that were stealing American copyrighted stuff, and selling it cheaply.

It is killing our economy, because a good sized portion of our money is leaving the country, and businesses are going out of business.

I personally think the Government had good intent and a half-way decent way of going about it, but did not consider the possibility of a large percentage of the American people rebelling against it.

I hope that our government can pull themselves together and come up with a plan to stop our economy from getting screwed further by these companies. (This is just with what I learned in class/read on internet)

I don't agree with SOPA in a sense that good sites could be shut down due to it, but I don't agree with chanting success in "defeating the government".

Imho, we should be further consulting with our government and trying to come up with a better solution to the problem SOPA intended to fix instead of fighting our government.

Reducing collateral damage from the previously stated solution is more likely than not going to be extremely difficult. All the more reason to help come up with solutions.

To sum it up:
"As a consequence of failing to act, there will continue to be a safe haven for foreign thieves,"

well... the government is so worried about companies losing business, they should make a law preventing companies from outsourcing. if companies stop outsourcing to India and other places then that will create more jobs.

more jobs = more money = more spending = happiness.

well.... jsut discover something bad.... some country made a bill, law, or act called ACTA.(sorry dont know what to call it cuz it came from another country) it is rumor to be worse than SOPA. COuntries around the world are signing it and maybe US is doing the same. Check it out... Crying or Very sad

descriptionWARNING! EmptyRe: WARNING!

yea its true another one like SOPA and PIPA is coming up and its called ACTA which is sorta worse ... but tbh IMO all this stuff is complete BS ... the law can never let them pass ... its not logic to let them pass. Instead of focusing on the internet, they should try to focus on real life crimes, stealing, stalking, killing, robbing, and a lot of other stuff ... i guess that going for the internet just shows these companies incompetence to deal with far more serious issues ...
