Crystal Abundance?

I activated crystal abundance and my oppenet flipped activated Dark bribe to negate it and then I activated spell shild type be to negate it
Would abundance still be activated in this situation?

You can't activate SPELL Shield Type-8 against a TRAP card.

Yeah, that's perfect logic -.-

A more logic explanation would be: "You cannot activate Spell Shield Type 8 in this situation at all."

sorry for the misunderstanding

If you activated Abundance, then he activated Spell Shield, then you activated Bribe (from what I understood), then of course Abundance would still carry through! The spell that countered it was negated!

Okay, just making sure
I would have won 1st place 4 times in a row but everyone was on his side

you always resolve from the last card used, if it negates something else that negates something, the original chain link carries on as if nothing had happened [after all other costs/tributes/whatnot have been resolved]

Not sure why no one else in the tourny understood that
