Tributing Crystal beasts

Okay, ive always wondered this soo here I go. A shared effect between crystal beasts is that if they are destroyed while their in the monster card zone you can place them in your spell and trap card zone as a continous spell
now
if you tribute them
can they go to your spelll and trap card zone?
some of my friends are saying no and others are saying yeah
so please help me out

The CB effect of placing them in the S/T zone instead of going to the graveyard can only be activated when they are destroyed by any means. So if you tribute summon a Crystal Beast monster it will go to the graveyard, it's not being destroyed by anything, so I can't think of anything that would make you think you can put them in the S/T zone.

I was just making sure.
I knew you couldnt send them to the S\T zone by tributing.
