On a side note, don't apply if you can't use J_Project for any reason. It's more likely eventually not to change the dueling system for our Regionals as KCVDS lacks some archetype support like Dragunity, Karakuri etc. In order to give something representing the meta development in real life compared to the one of DA's I think that having all the latest cards/packs is crucial.

Well I have JP obviously otherwise I wouldn't apply for this. But KCVDS got updated and has nearly everything now apart from some minor cards and Dragunities. So couldn't we just go and use KCVDS for it, or do you still think the lags that might happen at KCVDS are going to ruin the tournament..?

There are few cards that need to be added in order to have a full benchmark, defining the metagame of Duel Academy which will constantly and gradually be formed as soon as we have the latest cards for JP. From what I've been told Seto tends not to update KCVDS often so as to keep up with all the cards that exist IRL, Amy has also posted something on this confirming others' words.

For the time being, we'll run this on JP. We shouldn't forget that Duel Academy also attracts duelists that haven't played KCVDS ever before. If anything happens we might change our minds but the original condition remains the use of JP, accomplishing the primary goal of DA Regionals.

Masterkoitsu is right. We cannot depend on KCVDS since we all know how often it gets updated. Of course most of us love to play on KCVDS but with these Regionals we want to bring online dueling very close to real life. KCVDS is now updated and it will get missing cards in a week or so but still, it is just a matter of time when this update gets outdated. I will not predict the future of KCVDS but from experience in past years we all must agree that we always play latest real life meta months after or dont play it at all. Example, when people played Gale at 3x (time when Debris Hime deck was first introduced) we didn't have Gale to play with. When Gale came to KCVDS it was already limited. Same story for Brionac and others.

Point is that Regionals will be held every once in a while and KCVDS update will last just for a month or so. On JP cards works programmer J_BYYX and a team of people to help him. New set with all images can be added in a day there. We have other tournaments which can be held on KCVDS but this one is best to be on JP.
