J_PROJECT Dueling System Guide
J_Project is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading card game dueling system programmed in Phyton programming language. Dueling system was first launched in 2009. It was used very much in that time since other dueling systems were not that good or their cards were not updated. Later it was forgotten since new updates were not available anymore. Lately it is refreshed and updated with new card database and new images and is ready for use again. This guide will show you basics so that you know how to download, install, update and play Yu-GI-Oh! using this dueling system.
(1) Download

(2) Installation
When your download is finished you can proceed to Install the dueling system. Just follow the installation steps as you install all other programs.
Now we need to explain some files located in “J_project” folder. In the main folder important file is “engine.exe”. This is executable of our dueling system. Link that might appear on your desktop, start menu and other places will be a link to this file.
“Skins” folder is a place where your can find files of skins used in dueling system.
“Decks” folder is a place where your deck files are saved. Format of your decks will be “xml”.
“Images” folder is a place where all images of cards are stored.
Other folders are not so important for us so you can explore them on your own.

(3) Update
When you launch your dueling system first time, a messagebox for new update will pop-up. You will of course confirm that you want to update your dueling system. After it finishes updating you will be asked to restart your dueling system.
(4) Menu
Main Screen
Main menu is Deck Construction. On the left side you have list of all cards and “in place” search engine where your search begins as you type letters in the search bar above card list.
In the middle is your deck profile composed of 5 fields: Monsters, Spells, Traps, Fusion (Extra) and Side deck.
On the right side is image and description of selected card.
You can add cards into your deck by double clicking on them in card list section or clicking on “Add” button (red one). There are also “Add to side” and “Remove” buttons for managing your deck. When you finish deck making then you can simply save it with “Save” or “Save As” button. Same is for opening one of your decks with “Open” button. “New” button is clearing screen so you can make a new deck.
If search “in place” is not enough for you and you want more precise searching options then go to “File->Advanced Search” option.

Now lets cover some extra options of our dueling system. “Help->Preferences” opens up new dialogue where you can edit Skin, Nick, Hotkeys and few more options. Picture above shows best configuration of those parameters. Never change Language from English to other ones. It can make an error which will restrict launching your dueling system. If it happens accidently you can always open up “Settings.xml” in “J_project” main folder and edit Language manually back to “English” to be able to run dueling system again. Same is if some other things make similar error not allowing you to run executable. Here you can edit your nick name for dueling. Interesting is a new skin named “TheDuelistWinner”. You should try it out. If you want to make your own skin then simply duplicate one skin in “Skins” folder and edit each picture you want in it individualiy. Then select it in this menu. You can also edit Hotkeys that will make your game easier to play. Don't forget to uncheck “Face-up Cards Name”. This will hide text on all face-up cards when dueling and cards look better with no text on them.
(5) Starting duel
If you want to HOST a duel go to “Game->Listen” in the menu bar.

(6) Dueling field
After your duel started, dueling field will appear in new dialogue and you can start to explore how to duel and adapt to new system. It is not necessary to explain each thing individually since everything has small icons and explanation text written. All you need to know is that you can “Drag & Drop” things which makes gameplay very comfortable and to make actions with cards you need to “Right-click” on them. On the right side is “Chatbox” where each move is recorded and where you can talk with your opponent. You have also cool smileys available for use. If you want to explore dueling field before you proceed to duel you can access it by “Game->Test”. "/lp xxxx" or "/lp -xxxx" is code that you can enter in chat to increase/decrease your Life Points by amount you want if fixed values are not suitable for you ("Right-click" on your LP number).
