Favourite format

What is your favorite Yugioh format of all time? And Why?

Goat Control, it has lot of control cards and is pretty slow paced.

Second format after would be Macro Rabbit/Wind-Up, it was not a format where not-tier decks could not win. You could pretty much win with everything if you made it consistent.

I think it was Sept 2012 format, @psychoturtle should know the right answer as we played a lot of older format duels once.

Wabbits format. It was the best.

You could easily see the skill difference almost in all games. It had nothing to do with what deck you're using as long as you're a good duelist; plays were possible. That is all before KONAMI decide to change a 15-20 minute duel into a 3 minutes duel with their new decks.

Inzektors came to TCG shortly before March 2012 banlist, and were world champions in 2012. After that, the deck was drastically nerfed, putting Hornet and Dragonfly to 1 (September 2012 list)


My favorite format is March 2013 (Ruler format). It was very skilled despite the decks being the most powerful (spellbooks and rulers) and Dragon Ruler mirror matches were the hardest matches ever in this game. I just loved that format so much.

Every build was the same in about 35-37 main cards, only because it doesn't work properly otherwise. Doesn't mean its netdecked.

My personal favourite format was March 2007, this was format after the Infamous 'Airblade Turbo' emergency hits.

This was considered a turning point in the game when special summons started to take prominence, I found it quite a fun format to play in, you could win with almost anything as long as you built it well. Some memorable decks from this period include; Demise OTK, DDT, Dupe Troop and Circle Monarch.
