Q: Can the effect of Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier be activated by targeting itself?
A: The effect of Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier increases its own ATK, so it cannot be targeted by its own effect.

They made that make such little sense.

I think they're trying to say that it can't return itself because part of its effect is for it to gain attack, and that wouldn't happen if it wasn't on the field.
