As you (hopefully) know many forbidden cards have recently been errata'd into legality by changing their effects.

What is everyone's opinion on this?

That slowly all old banned cards will return with balanced effects

The game has changed alot since these cards we're banned so alot of the erreta's are un needed it's just a way for Konami to make some money on old cards.

The cards have been available for use in Traditional without the erreta's so why erreta them for Advanced?

That's my problem with these erratas.

I dislike the fact that these erratas legitimately change the effects of the cards as opposed to simply updating old cards with modern terminology/ Problem Solving Card Text ...

I feel that they should have just printed these as different cards if they're going to go as far as changing the effect.

Maybe I'm just biased because I played IRL when (most) of these banned cards were legal.

Just looked at crush card virus it's been erreta'd 4 times now! Seriously wtf. I totally agree with you, it should of been problem solving texts or just left as there where.

Yeah. If they wanted cards that could fill the same role but slightly different and playable, they should have made new cards.

In fact, Konami have done this in the past. Take Fishborg Blaster: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fishborg_Blaster
This card had a 2009 release. It is currently banned.

Since then;
2012: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fishborg_Launcher , http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fishborg_Planter
2013: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fishborg_Archer
2014: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fishborg_Doctor

The whole Fishborg archetype is essentially 4 different erratas on Fishborg Blaster, but with the last card, Doctor, being only usable alongside other Fishborgs.

Let's take a case study which they didn't make a whole archetype for, Tribe-Infecting Virus.
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Tribe-Infecting_Virus
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Tribe-Shocking_Virus
Once again, this is essentially an errata, except they have used a different card for it.

The new sinister serpent is hardly like the old one, and will only work at 3. Limiting the version with the errata is downright dumb. Why didn't they make a "Sinister Python" or something? Wouldn't have been hard. Essentially, there is no reason for the erratas EXCEPT to knock a few cards out of the banlist, because Konami have realised they will never remove them and that they are releasing broken cards at such a rate that there will soon be an absurdly large banlist to deal with.

What you people fail to see is that Konami is doing this so that people who didnt play back in the time of these cards can get to experience playing with them instead of just always seeing these insanely good cards forever on the banlist.

The cards would never come back otherwise. I'm all for them doing this. It's like "patching" the game in a sense. Fix the errors that they made so that they can expand the number of cards we're allowed to use. There's really no reasons why it's bad. All of you dislike it, regardless of why you try to argue that it's bad, dislike it because you "just do".

No. These are not the same cards. They are too different to be the same "insanely good cards", because they are being turned into mediocre shite. The erratas bring nothing to new players that new cards of similar type would not, and the cards with new erratas take up the same slot in a pack that a new card would have done.

-.- Konami wanna sell his products and people have nostalgia of cards like those since are remastering the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh!.

reason number 2: konami wanna again sell his cards, so now he is aiming to a banned list of current cards to bring back them such as happened with Fire Fist or OCG Mermails.

Not more not less, the key word is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
