One thing I've always had a hard time is deck building, what situations to consider when adding cards to my deck, should I have 3 of this or 2, will this card clog, how do I avoid dead hands as much as possible, etc. I know experience forms a big part of it as well as personal taste but maybe there are some pointers to take into consideration when constructing and/or tweaking my decks.

Most of these are opinionated; picking between 2 or 3. I usually like running what I think best, If it runs smoothly with the deck, If it's needed. Does it need to be there to make the deck actually run? Or is it a card I'll occasionally need? Does it make the deck? Or does it just support the deck? My best idea is to look at a skeleton of the deck look up the decks name I.e. : Burning Abyss, and base your deck off that skeleton

Tweeking a deck takes time, the best way to tweek a deck is through actually testing the deck. Toss cards you dont need and add ones that you want to see more often.

There are cards that are considered staples in decks such as Vanity, a deck may have staples from it archetype E.x.Triple Cir, Scarm, and Graff in a Burning Abyss deck, You always run 3 of those. So when building a deck keep in mind staples and such.

That's all from me

A basic I recipe I tend to follow when building a new deck.

20 monsters
10 spells
10 traps
(but these numbers very from deck to deck, because satellite for example run a high amout of magic and traps)

Run 3 of cards which the Deck need to function and what you need to see regularly.
Run 2 of cards you need but dont need to see as often.
run 1 of cards which help you improve your gamestate but only need on a rare occasions.

A deck should have good draw power / deck thinning and able to search out key cards etc.

Why? This topic doesn't discuss a specific deck.

You're Right: Half Off-Topic, Half Deck-Discussion.
