As some of you should be already aware, I'm not a  big fan of using C4Ds or fractals anymore. I've been working to develop my own style with tags using Brushes only and Adjustments settings as well, nothing else. Perhaps a few filters here and there.

Here's my latest, this should be No.4 I believe with the new-yet-to-be-perfected style:

Another Original Brush-only Tag ViYJCz4

EDIT: Okay so I noticed few mistakes but i'm not going to point them out, hope you guys don't find them lol

Needs contrast
Looks a tad too silky man

Make a new layer> apply image> image> auto contrast

You also have some weird lighting up top o-o

I also find the top 2 swirls on both sides to be better focused than Lulu herself xD
Lulu doesn't really seem like your focal

I added the gray-ish look purposely, then added two adjustments: Contrast and Curves. It didn't look good with higher contrast, i messed around to see how it looks and the result wasn't quiet the pleasant one.

It's just weird without contast. It reminds me of my old siggies in which the lighting was there but not effective

Btw, edited my upper post.

Usually that issue is solved by using a fractal or a normal C4D effect combined with the light source. In this scenario, the focal is everything around Lulu, the swirling rose on the top-right of her hat, and the big dark-brown rose on the top-left of the render. I then added extra light on her arms and erases some on the front of her hair so it looks like the light is striking behind her which is reflecting the light on the rest of the tag. As for the contrast, If you ask me it's only an issue if there is darker parts of the render, but there isn't. The background itself is orange and yellow, the only dark thing is the brush behind lulu and the double-tree-like parts on the bottom part of the tag.

I didn't say It's perfect though, I said there is mistakes but I won't point them out :> The only thing you caught was the 'silky feeling' to it, I used too much sharpening, It's hard to see on my Laptop, I need to view it from a certain angle, therefor sometimes It gets tricky for me to know how it looks like on normal screens.

EDIT: So I downloaded the thing on my phone to see it looks, yes the contrast is a must in this scenario, It's a bit too gray-ish more than i expected it to be.

random lighting op

and i guess your depth sucks if that counts? xD

it's also so sharp that parts of the background look out of place

for example

There is three different layers of brushes each has like 30% less opacity that the layer before it, I don't see how the depth sucks, maybe It's just your idea of depth which sucks :>

Since when does everything being sharp=depth..?

Your foreground and background are both sharp. That's not depth.

The standards which applies when using C4Ds or fractals doesn't apply when using Brushes for they're flat in their nature, that's what I'm trying to say.

You're enjoying the ironic situation, I'm aware of that.
