[COTW Article] Deep Sea Diva

"When this card is Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Sea Serpent-Type monster from your Deck."

This card has seriously great potential,it was mainly made to be a support for sea serpent decks.But such decks were rarely used,if they were even used.however,this card was brilliantly teched in "Zombie" decks and it also replaced "Krebons" in TeleDAD Variants...I consider this card to be the best level 2 tuner after the mighty "Plaguespreader Zombie"...I'll illustrate through this article why it's considered so by me and others.

Anyway let's start with this card's rulings
Deep Sea Diva Rulings

Ok First,Keep in mind that this card can search out itself.
This card showed how it can easily grab out (Level 6 & 8 ) Synchros,It can do wonders in Diva Zombies and it's pretty playable in DivaDAD...well till now i saw these 2 decks winning not less than 5 regionals...Here's a sample combo of what it can do in DivaZombies.

Summon Diva with Goblin Zombie on the field (Which Special Summons
another Diva granted you have another one in your deck), then Synchro
Summon Brionac. Search Mezuki for the effect of Goblin Zombie. Pitch
Mezuki with Brionac's effect to bounch something. Then, remove the
newly pitched Mezuki to Special Summon the Goblin Zombie from your
Graveyard. Synchro the new Goblin Zombie and the 2nd Diva for another
Synchro (Most likely Doomcaiser in the mirror match, or Goyo against
anything else). Then search PSZ. The rest happens depending on the game
situation.

Or you can use a copy to synchro for a level 6 synchro then synchro again for a level 8 synchro.

See how effectively it can be..?! it can mean a game.
some people prefer using this card at 2s while others prefer running it at 3s..since it'd be useless if you opened with 2 Divas..Some others run 3s with another level 3 "Sea Serpent" monster such as : spine gillman,mermaid archer..so that they can pull out an instant "Ally of Justice Catastor" or just any other level 5 synchro depending on the situation.

Since Both "Krebons" and "Deep Sea Diva" are both techable in same decks (DAD Variants & Zombie Variants) and they're also level 2 tuners..I made a small comparison between them and then i'd leave the decision to ya.

Krebons/E-Teleport
Pros
-Dark therefore it's Allureable
-Good Stall effect that can buy you the extra turn you need
-Searchable through Mystic Tomato.
-A target for E-Teleport
-Gets under Bottomless

Cons
-You typcially don't want to draw it and when you do it isn't as effective apart from stalling.
-The stalling effect is not effective in a format with a lot of removal and mass destruction.
-Apart from stalling it does little else on it's own.
-You gain no real card advantage through it's use even with teleport.

Deep Sea Diva
Pros
-Instant pluses once it's summoned
-It does the same Job as e-teleport but on it's own.
-Maining multiple copies is like maining multiple copies of e-teleport and Krebons except with less deck clutter.
-Diva is always +1
-Requires fewer slots in the deck. (Two minimum, three maximum)
-Can easily summon more than one synchro at the same time
-Gets under Bottomless
-Gets Under Trap Hole

Cons
-Isn't dark
-Drawing multiple copies sucks (This is easily treated through plague)
-Very low attack (can be a Pro a lot of the time though)
-Owned by royal oppression since it'd waste your turn destroying both divas

This Card is great but where can i use it ?!
Easy,This card can get teched in the following decks :
DivaDAD : This deck has proved to be the most competitive of DAD Variants decked as i've personally tested.It's fast,easy and coinstintent enough...Diva can do wonders with malicious

DivaZombies : It's also a very great zombie variant,very competitive but you need to be wise using it since it's not as easy as other zombie variants.

Deck is called Diva Zombies, not DivaDAD, but other than that the article is fairly well written. Could've had a bit more depth since Diva works in more decks than just that, but overall pretty good. Will give it an 8/10.

Neko there're DivaDAD decks beside DivaZombies...
