Wind-Up Rabbit and Factory vs MST/Black rose

Does the opponent get to search if I am about to destroy factory if he activates rabbit's eff? There's used to be a ruling saying 'no' but here comes this fella and tells me 'You are wrong, there's a new ruling'. So is there one?

The ruling is that Continuous Spell and Trap cards must be on the field in order to resolve their effects unless it says otherwise on the card. To that, I will add this ruling:

Even if the effect of a "Wind-Up" monster is activated as chain 2 or higher, you can activate the effect of Wind-Up Factory in a new chain

So Wind-Up Factory does not chain to the effect of the Wind-Up monster, but rather starts a new chain after the current chain is resolved. If Wind-Up Factory is not on the field when the 1st chain resolves, it cannot be activated.

Dear Neko, what do you exactly mean with "Chain 2 or higher"?

Wind-Up Factory also triggers after a chain resolves in which a wind-up monster's effect has been activated as a Chain Link 1.

Gia, that's a copy/paste of a ruling. It simply is there to state that Factory does not chain to the effect of a Wind-Up monster, but rather activates in a new chain after that monster's effect has resolved.
