Hey Guys

Hello all Zeta Crossfire from Oregon here dropping by to say Hello. I found Dueling Academy while I was Googleing Horus lockdown decks to see what other people use in them. Looking around the site it seems like a really great place and I hope to be active here for awhile.

I've been playing Yugioh since the day it came to the states, but I took 4 years off and just came back a few months ago. The game has changed a lot since I left (Life points barely matter anymore? Synchron?) I still don't know how to use Synchron monsters effectively or many of todays top tier decks, but I've been using my Horus Lockdown deck as well as a few of my other LV type decks and holding my own against them and that's fine by me. While I'm here I'm hoping to learn more about to to counter this mass spamming thing that everyone seems to be so in love with now-a-days.

Well that's a little about me, time to explore the site even more!

I have to say I really like the way this forum is set up with the different ranks and how people are actually helping other people out (on the internet? gasp) Everything about this site at first glace seems incredibly professional. I top my hat good sir/madam.

Been using Duelingnetwork for the past month, find it better then anything else out there currently.

Also I googled it last night and downloaded it, going to check it out now actually never used it before.

I do have a question tho, Was looking around and maybe I'm not fully understanding this, but do you have to buy decks with your points? Can I not make my own deck and use that for torneys, getting into the academy ect? I don't use any crazy six sams or anything just the cards I have in real life. Hoping I could just continue using them, but if I have to I'll try and buy them on the site. Or maybe I'm not understanding the shop correctly?

We are glad that you joined us. Those Synchro spammers are very popular today especially when Librarian came out. Soon you will find out many ways to counter them since they rely on one thing: Special Summoning. If you want to play a competitive deck but don't like to use Synchros then I suggest Gravekeeper deck. You can find many builds of many different decks here in our Deck section in forum.

As for that Deck Shop, it is made just to help others if they cannot make their own good deck. So they earn points by dueling, doing tourneys etc and "buy" a deck they want or that shop offers. It is not related to anything that you must do, as I said shops are just if you seem not to find a solution to your deck problem and want some more help. Some make a half ready deck and post it in Deck Discussion for further help and fixes and some don't want to make decks they just buy them :D

For your test or dueling in tourneys and battle arenas you can use deck you want, just sometimes tournaments have special rules like banning use of certain decks to make it more interesting but in general you use the deck you want.

Try to find a tester in testing section. Join his hamachi and contact him for a test. You can choose deck you want to use there too. Good Luck.

Welcome to Duel Academy Zeta. Yeah, Synchro's are hard to get used to.
But, you can always use decks that don't heavily rely on Synchro's. Try Monarchs for example. But, the only real competitive decks right now are ones with Synchro's.
