The march banlist

First topic message reminder :

so.. new banlist is comin in march

what card should be hit
what should not be hit
what card deserve a ban and what dont

in my mind.. i think dandylion or lonefire should be lmiit since the theme offers way too much options and destructive power. Royal Tribute should be limit also.. and HS should be back to limit cuz ppl are starting to rely on huge backrows for their wins

so what do u think.. plz respect others opinions and be civilized

from what happened in YCS Dallas i believe Konami may "touck" few SS cards after all , they are overpowered now (kinda)

Remember Dallas has no impact on the list whatsoever. Everyone should be making their predictions based on the TCG/OCG Beforehand

Six Sams got overpowered only recently if they do touch them it would be only 1/2 cards probably United and/or Gateway would get Semi-Limited at max. That's what i liked about that ban list predicament cuz it just makes the game fun and more balanced again. And Kira i doubt Zombies will go back to the top just because of Mezuki and Spirit Reaper, really Spirit Reaper doesn't do much nowadays, there are way too many ways to get rid of walls like him now, besides you would barely attack with him. Mezuki at 2 makes Zombies playable again cuz they are currently dead and I mean really dead. I still wish for Dark Magician of Chaos though :D

The scans are out and the list is being translated. I will post it when the whole thing is confirmed.

i dont think that trunade is that much broken and with massive amounts of bakrow nowadays i think it needs to stay, in my thinking konami will probably restrict darksoul or faultroll instead

as for mindmaster meh it hasnt made much of an impression, the meta is still BW's Sabers, Quickdraw, sams.. so until it proves to be broken i dont think its gona get hit

Mind Master needs to go because its Subistoad for Psychics. Which is more apparent thanks to the Psychic Support: They can now OTK you sideways and back.

Giant Trunde has potential because Konami doesnt like OTKs.

banlist is fairly okay but limiting book is very very disappointing, liking trooper and reaper at 2, though comparing to last year's ban this is not bad, tho it is annoying how konami is shoving the chaos variants even tho nobody wants it.

Book of Moon hits me the most. I am speechless :D

On the other side I am glad Royal Tribute is not limited.

The only thing that hurts me the most on that list is Kalut and Book of Moon. And some really weird thing like they banned Goyo instead of Brionac, Brionac is more broken imo. I'm not surprised Spirit Reaper and Card Trooper went to 2 cuz we will need more protection and more digging to do now.

they banned goyo for the exact same reason mind control was limited and brain control was banned.
I don't know why on earth was book of moon limited especially with royal decree at 3s [so far]..

Anyway they're unlimiting Skill Drain to give us another option to stop six sams beside limiting Gateway...
Kalut hits BWz hard but ehh they can manage to adapt i guess, Blackwings were always more than kaluts and icarus but sure it's a big hit.

I'm not really sure about the new meta since almost everything was hit : BWz/Plants/Six Samurai and Gravekeepers -they lost hell consistency with BoM limited

Banned Goyo is disappointing. Because Brionac is more criminal among of stable Synchros. Hmm maybe they thought Goyo is an easy-summon but high ATK. Anyways this time ban list is perfect

Still Goyo is not that broken plus there was book, bottomless, Compulsory to take care of him, but since they limiting Book for whatever reason they have (and i bet it's something really stupid, cuz Konami is "dumb").

Skill Drain and Ultimate Offering at 3 only pleases me, makes some of my decks more consistent then they were in this format. Anyway, i don't care much about the ban list because i am a Scrap player and we weren't hurt at all, but i am also a Blackwing player and the ban list hurts D: and the f*cking X-sabers didn't get him besides Cold Wave. Sams got hit good but they can still kick @$$. And i will say: "TAKE THAT GK's!" eventhough they weren't hit that hard, they should have hited Necrovalley instead.

And i still hope for my Magician of Black Chaos D:

Yes this is full list and Skill Drain will bring new decks again and it'll be good side deck card but not for all decks. I think Train is right totally. Goyo is not unstoppable. Book of Moon, Bottomless TRap Hole, Solemn Warning. I think this game was already balanced and they released this ban list to seems like working. LOL :D

They are not even tier 1 anymore. But some people may play them new format since plants gks bws and sams got hit.

they limited BoM....if you want to stab GKs a knife in the back LIMIT BOM...i did not expect this one and it was good stopper for many things. book was just the awesomeness.....and now its sadness....

tbh , the new ban list is more than good .. reason is every one starts using Plant Synchro , Blackwings these days .. and thats just annoying .. so now we might see some real creative decks imo ..

Recently informed by a blog I'm visiting occasionally, I can say that most of the changes were very predictable. Plant and Quickdraw variants die slowly once you grab a copy of Chain Disappearance in your 2nd and 3rd match and there is always the choice of Nobleman Of Crossout, so I didn't expect to see some of their cards in the list. With limiting Book Of Moon, Trap Stun and Royal Decree are back to the game because this one along with Solemn Warning are currently the best cards to counter a meta deck by blocking unwanted effects and Synchro Summons. Royal Tribute pretty much defines the match allowing you to see what your oppoennt has and also forcing him to discard his monsters. Its status makes sense especially when you have the chance to regain your lost monsters by Stele. Already talked about Solemn Warning and Icarus was the best card teched ever in a BW deck.

i guess the banlist is kinda pro.. tho BoM limited still makes me sad

i mean its not like BoM is as bad as the other limited cards

Book of Moon is one of cards which can block unwanted effects and Synchro Summons. -_- And you are right about Royal Decree

Both yes and no. I started understand what KONAMI tries. We always use decks that we called as meta. Is there any duelists in this topic who doesn't use Plant Synchro deck? No. ee now, we are not original really. Now take a look this. Follower of YGO animes watch them excited really. Because these characters' duels are really strong (If you don't mind their decks, they lost lots of LP and they can change everything with a card sometimes. It's not impossible for them because their decks are original.) because duel's flow can change easily. It's also because of they don't have specific cards. For example we use Plant Synchro deck and its strategies are known, just three or four strategies for that deck. However it's not so in anime. Characters uses almost random but balanced decks. So everything is a suprise during duels.

It's what KONAMI tries I think. Not like in anime but they are tries to get this game a little more creativity while making decks. For example kiryu111 made a deck called as Cat Synchro and everyone used it. But it was his deck, not ours. We should make another original decks to beat his deck. I hope you got what I mean. I maybe wrong but at least it's my thought.

I, and many other OCG players were using that when it was fresh in the OCG about 3 years ago. He is not responsible for that trend. Just saying

And majority of the anime characters do not used balanced decks, they use highly situational ones there is a huge difference. The show and the real life game should never be compared in terms of gameplay.

Overall the truely dedicated players will be playtesting their butts off, like what im doing right now, to get an early jump on the format, to see what works, and adapt without the use of certain things. And everyone else will just wait until the next YCS results are in and/or just replace whatever cards they lost, with impractical ones without proper testing.
