So today while being driven home from a trip I was bored out of my mind. So I started thinking about random things, and then I started thinking about stickers and soonly after video games.

An idea came to my mind "Why don't I make-up in my head a video game that rewards the player somehow?" so I came up with this idea to use an Album-Stickers system to unlock things in the game. Basicly what you have to do is play a game, and when you glue all of the stickers on one page something unlocks.

Now that could get borring and annoying as well, as stickers will of course be given out randomly once you get the high score/finish first. So I tought of enabling players to trade stickers with other players to make the process faster/more fun.

Since I figured out what system to use I started thinking about what are they unlocking with those filled up pages. After some thinking I decided to add mini-games as unlockable parts of the game. Imidietly after that as a big Warcraft 3 (And Uther's Party) fan I got an idea "Hey, why don't I make the game collection of mini-games!". So I decided to make the game collection of mini-games. Now players would unlock mini-games, it looked insteresting to me so I decided to start working with that.

I modified some of the games I played as a kid that where very fun in hotseat mode and added 10 of them to the game. After you start the game/client for thee first time you get to try out every mini-game for 2 times. After you finished testing them out you pick 2 and playing those two you try to unlock others by collecting their stickers.

In order to make everything more fun I added a Multi Player mode and made it important in unlocking progress. After this idea I decided to split stickers into 2 groups:
-Singleplayer
-Multiplayer

In order to get singleplayer stickers you have to play multiplayer games and visa-versa. To be able to play a game-mode you need to collect all of its single player stickers (As you can only unlock Multiplayer stickers by playing the game whom's stickers you wanna get in single player mode)

The final and only question is should I learn how to code and put this on kickstarter OR sell the idea to a game studio? I am waiting for your answers/suggestions. Thanks for  skiping the whole text to this paragraph lazy arse spamer  reading!

Do it on your own would be the best way. If it succeeded, you can get more money when you sell it later.

At the moment you have nothing to sell because you dont own anything, you only have a idea in your head (which is worthless). So if you pitch your idea to a Game studio/developer they could just steal your idea and there would be nothing you could about it.

what you need to do is start developing your idea and copyright it. Then you have the option to sell or develope it further.

Uhm, no that is not how it works, Roach. Intellectual property has rights and it should be protected rightfully so. As long as the studio or developers he is initiating negotiations with fully agree and acknowledge his intellectual property then he should be safe to present his idea to them; however, intellectual property could be a tricky one, for if he failed to explain his idea in exact detail, any small detour made to his idea by the developers will render the idea no longer his own - like changing a very small part of his idea into something different would result in an entirely different idea, which is where he loses ownership over his idea.

Also, I don't really believe your idea would trigger much audience to begin with. You're aiming at a very small portion of gamers that still exist in the world, and not at the majority of gamers.
