The Dutch's Nekroz

Hi there Da,

After a long break from YGO I decided to come back and have a little bit of fun, without the obsession to constantly run over my competition and be super active in terms of tournaments and such. But to get back into the game well you have to start somewhere. I started with Nekorz!!!



I have placed a Phantom of Chaos in there just for the fun of it. I mean when you use Quasar and you have the option of using his awesomeness with PoC it just helps out, same goes for Barbaroid ( 2 attacks, no effects against you and you potentially burn 2k damage )

The rest I guess is pretty standard, but help and suggestions are more than welcome.

There's some nice tricks you can do with it, copy the Kaleido targets, copy the ritual monsters. So many possibilities!  ^^

Line up looks solid, here are my suggestions;

- 1 Claus
- 1 Trish

These cards are great don't get me wrong however, they are highly searchable and drawing multiples of them is really bad. You only need 1 of each.

+ 1 Valk
+ 1 Gungir 

Both of valks effects are huge helpers with this deck, almost always want to have him so I am an advocate of 3 valk.

Gungir  also has some nice utility, she rarely hits the field but her hand trap ability really comes into play a lot with people playing destructive removal again. And the rare times you do summon her, that destructive quick effect really does some serious damage. 

Having played around with this in the OCG I feel that 2 of each mirror works the best, but that might just be me.

I also think Book of Eclipse is better than Dark hole, it deals with all the same threats and more! It doesn't target or destroy, meaning there are far fewer answers to using  this as a problem solver. You can also use it to flip your manju/sanju face down, flip summon them and get an additional search.

Regarding -1 Trish

I have come to the point of recycling Trish a few times now and havng a 2nd one in there helps me keep those resources ( not to use them for recycling trish ). On top of that I haven't played a lot with this yet ( 100% honesty ) but I have seen many matches with a similar Nekroz deck vs all sort of stuff ( mainly mirror match and BA ) and Gunrir isn't used much, so that leaves me to believe Gunrir isn't the best choice for the deck, although I could be wrong.


Regarding Book of Eclipse, I prefer the Dark Hole over it, simply because Dark Hole just nukes stuff without further ado. They just cancel Dark Hole, gain an effect of off it or they die! Cause I won't nuke the board if I don't have game or a lock comming up. Book of Eclipse is better in the mirror match I think due to many players going for the Djinn lock, so it will be a defenite sideboard card for me.

You play a similar build to me and I must state how happy I am that your running 40 cards rather then all these retards running 43+ card decks.

The 3rd Valk is definitely needed in the main simpley because of the speed and power of the current meta, you can get OTK'd in a instant and Valk is your only card to prevent it. I would remove RoTA or princess to fit it in

Also gungir is only really used to protect your djinn lock and since you don't run djinn you don't really need it.

Also I would ditch the cute quasar beetle combo and replace it with more useful extra deck cards. Because honestly wasting 2 brio (any card in your deck) on it is crazy and no really worth it, against BA it's can have slightly more value dependant on game state.

The guy who pretty much made the first Nekroz deck video when they were still in beta script on Percy.

The origins of the Exa Beatle + Quasar combo comes from MoonlightComet and Tenma was the one who performed the combo in the video.

Along with the idea for Phantom of Chaos, Miracle Fusion, Miracle Synchro Fusion and Flamvell Counter.

His video is currently at 18k views and practically went viral in the Nekroz fan base :l. It's a shame that almost everyone is just spamming Djinn lock though, that shet isn't even hard to get around.

Phantom of Chaos is a cutesy preference choice, one I'm not a fan of, but that second Clausolas definitely needs to become something like the third Valk since you only need one Clausolas. Also, it should be 2 of each Mirror. I can understand trying to "personalize" one's deck, but you should use the spots in the deck where you can do that to do that. For instance where you are Main Decking Dark Holes over Book of Eclispse.

Well after april banlist the deck still looks good.Are you putting in rotas/armag knight?I am playing the nekroz sorc really helps me summon the big rituals.Banish him and ritual spell to grab ritual -> his effect send to grave shurit -> nekroz mirror any ritual monster from hand.
