I can see what you're trying to do, it's very tough to run monarch without a consistent tribute engine, the cards like Vassal, Halberd and Card Advance aren't optimal as they minus you to get going and tbh you don't have that luxury.. So you need to capitalise on hand traps.

Swap Gorz for Tragodia as you're running the continuous cards and those conflict with Gorz.

Take out the vassals and Halberds and put in 2 Swordsman of Revealing light, 2 Ghostrick Jackfrost 1 more Battle Fader.

Not good. Even with the changes DDS made monarchs can't survive on there own.

Especially with the changes DDS made. Now the deck solely relies on letting your opponent attack first.

Actually, It doesn't. You can simply just use storm forth on opposing monsters to get the tributes going.. Also The First monarch can also be used to mitigate that problem.

Even the first monarch is a trap card so you can't play it the turn you set it. And yes the monarchs storm forth is a way to get a monarch out but all the monarchs effects are mandatory so if you use it on the one monster they had to summon caius or raiza and they don't have any of other cards you're hurting yourself severely. It's not very consistent to say the least and you can't really spam monarchs unless you want to trip yourself up either.

Well, good thing monarchs have never been a spam deck then. (even though some of the tribute engines of the past rapidly gave you fodder, this is an attempt at a pure build so we won't go there) I realize the effects are mandatory, there's also some good tribute summon monsters you can tech in so you can summon something on the very rare occasion that you summon something onto an open field.
