5 Things about DA I wish I knew before joining

So these are a list of five things that I think are relevant that I wish I knew when I first joined as you all know I ranked up to Abandoned Dark and I am helping you guys achieve the same This is actually pretty all serious stuff I don't lie about anything.

5. Stay active in inactive Tournaments

Most tournaments have a rank up prize for 1st place. If your opponent is not active take advantage of that by moving through rounds. In off seasons there are a few tournaments that help you rank up and most of them are almost always dead. You can pretty easily jump through the hoops to the finals by activity, causing you to rank up.

4. Battle Arena is an easy rank up and DP

The Battle Arena is where you duel other people in the academy to win duels. It improves your skills as a duelist while also giving you some DP. By topping the league you get the prize of ranking up plus up to two new achievements. This is a very easy way to rank up while having fun. Many times during the off seasons the Battle Arena doesn't see much showing which is where you come in and dominate. Since Duel Academy doesn't use the Wins - Loss to equal points it just Wins = Points you can take advantage of this system by dueling as many people as you like and you don't have to worry about losing because even if you got a score of 1-2 you still get 1 point causing you to move up in the rankings.

3. Pay attention to the Slifers who join Duel Academy around the same time you do

Chances are that's the staff of tomorrow, I joined the academy around the same time as Germanfan23, Nuran, Frisky yuseifudo33, and N. The majority of the people ranked up and became staff fairly quickly. Most all of them were staff at one point or another and they generally are the people you befriend. I'm not saying that you befriend all of them because trust me when I say N is far from a friend as possible. Also I don't rule out on the fact that you can befriend people from other dorms it's just you will most likely see the active Slifer you joined with and some new ones throughout your time at DA so they are easier to befriend.

2. Your Rival

The Yin to your Yang, The Gary to your Ash, The Pepsi to your Coke, The Michelangelo to your DaVinci, The Tesla to your Edison, The Darth Vader to your Luke Skywalker and many more. The person you either hate with a burning desire and you just want to be better than them at everything or the person that is your friend however you want to out compete them at there own game. Either way you want to succeed before they succeed, and this causes you to duel better. You usually have up to two rivals one online and one in real life should you choose to play in real life and I have attained them both. The person you see in a round of the tournament and you go it could go either way. The reason I made it to Abadoned Dark was in a large part do to my rival, N. And though we rarely see eye to eye he has helped me become a better duelist and I feel like without him I would have never gotten here because I wouldn't have had the motivation to beat anyone. When he first joined the academy I hated him a lot not gonna lie probably more than most people and the feeling was mutual. We usually dueled in random rounds of tournaments and I would usually lose. Eventually as time progressed he ranked up all the way to Obelisk Blue and I was still stuck as Slifer not really participating in many events. I decided to change that about myself and started taking Yu-Gi-Oh! seriously and dueled with my all. Eventually I ranked up beating him in the Regionals of course to get to here. Without him I would probably be a Slifer, and I wouldn't mind it haha. So I have to thank N for letting me hate him so much that he caused me to rank up here.

1. Don't screw up

You're first few weeks are hard and it's hard not to get warnings, no one reads the rules well I did when I joined cause I had no life back then, but no one reads them. They're too long and boring you just want to get here get tested rank up and have fun and in the mist of that you end up getting warnings which mean nothing to you at first but eventually you realize how bad they are when you are applying for staff. I for one got one warning once for doing something stupid and then I explained to Amy my mistake and she took it away. Thank you Amy <3! For my personal reason I will keep that story a mystery or explain it later in my blog. But anyways the point is it's hard it's your first week you just came here and you have no idea what's going on so you decide to go wild and crazy. If you do make sure you speak to a mod or admin explaining to them what you did and why you did it and they might be able to help. With the exception of Jin, BWG and N we have hearts you know. :3
