Slifer Tournament Semi Final Match: VoxPopulii vs D
Hello people of DA, and welcome to the Match Report of the Epic Slifer Tournaent Final 4 play-offs! After 12 days of bloodbath duels, we are finally nearing the end of this 32-player tournament. The semi-finalists are: VoxPopulii, D, psychoturtle and DarkFusion. Let's review one of the semi-final matches, between VoxPopulii and D.
Game 1
Vox starts off the Match with Constellar Sheratan,sets 1 backrow card and ends. D starts defensive with 3 set backrow cards and ends the turn as well. Vox tries to go for the Pollux Kaus play but Bottomless Trap Hole destroys Kaus! Book of Moon stops Constellar Pollux and Vox only goes for 700 damage this turn! D's Heavy Storm clears the backrow and he summons The Agent of Mystery - Earth, adding Venus and ending his turn. Vox then summons his Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and attacks with both Bear and Sheratan, adding Tenki and bringing down D's life points to 6000. (8000/6000) D summons his Agent Venus and summons 3 Mystic Shine Balls, despite Vox playing Maxx ''C''. A great play from D, using Creature Swap to trade a Shine Ball with Sheratan and Xyz Summoning Wind-Up Zenmaines and Gachi Gachi Gantetsu. D overcomes the Fire Fist Bear, dealing only 200 damage (7800/6000). Vox has a hand of 9 cards now but fails to keep his Pollux alive,so he sets 2 and ends his turn. D Monster Reborns Vox's Fire Fist Bear but in return, Vox gets rid of Zenmaines with Compulsory Evacuation Device. Vox takes the initiative with Algiedi + Sombre + Pollux + Kaus all in 1 turn! He overlays Algiedi and Sombre into Pleiades, drops an Honest and takes Game 1. VoxPopulii 1-0 D
Game 2
D starts off Game 2 with The Agent of Creation - Venus, and brings forth 2 Mystic Shine Balls (8000/7000) to overlay them into Gachi Gachi Gantetsu. Solid opening. Vox opens with Fire Formation - Tenki and special summons Constellar Siat and normal summons Constellar Kaus. Easy Pleiades on his first turn! He activates Pleiades' effect to return D's set backrow card to his hand, and attacks Venus. (8000/6500) He also sets 1 backrow card and ends his turn. D summons Card Trooper, Vox attempts to return it with Pleiades but D uses Herald of Orange Light to destroy it. A huge threat removed! Compulsory Evacuation Device returns Gachi Gachi, but Chaos Sorcerer and Card Trooper inflict big damage to Vox! (3800/6500) Vox summons a Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and destroys Chaos Sorcerer then attacks Card Trooper. (3800/5200) D activates Call of the Haunted to return Master Hyperion, which he discarded with Herald of Orange Light and then summons Thunder King Rai-Oh. D is suddenly in control! (900/5200) Vox summons Constellar Pollux and Constellar Sombre and uses Sombre's effect to summon Constellar Kaus. Thanks to Fire Formation - Tenki, Kaus can suicide crash into Thunder King Rai-Oh, leaving Pollux and Sombre (Level 5 each) to Xyz into Volcasaurus, but D chains Book of Moon and Vox has no choice but to say GG. VoxPopulii 1-1 D
Game 3
Vox starts Game 3 with a stellar hand. Pollux + Kaus overlay into Constellar Pleiades, sets 2 and ends his turn. Couldn't imagine better! D won't give up though, he uses Book of Moon to flip down Pleiades and summons Card Trooper, but Card Trooper gets hit by Effect Veiler. Ouch! More trouble for D! Pleiades attacks Trooper (8000/5900) and that's it for Vox's turn. The Agent of Creation - Venus gets hit by a Bottomless Trap Hole, and Pleiades bounces the face-down set card. Vox then summons Constellar Ptolemy M7 over his Pleiades, summons Constellar Sombre and Constellar Kaus. Sombre attacks, Kaus attacks... is it over? NO! D drops Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness, with a token of 1800/1800 stats, that gets destroyed by M7. (8000/2550) In Main Phase 2, Vox does a great move, Xyz Summoning Number 61 - Volcasaurus and destroying Gorz, dealing the damage that decided the Match! VoxPopulii proceeds to the Finals, and D proceeds to the 3rd place play-off!
Overall, psychoturtle is the winner of the tournament, VoxPopulii is the runner-up and DarkFusion is the bronze medal winner! Stay tuned for the upcoming events!
