Logan walks through the streets, unfazed by the poverty and famine around him. It doesn't matter; he has a job to do. After scaling the crumbling ruins of what used to be a bank, Logan crouches down on the roof and takes out his sniper rifle. He looks down the sights and searches for his target.
On the streets, a man is walking by. Logan isn't fooled though, for he identified the "man". This "man" is no man; he is a demon. Not just a demon, though, but a target. A high priority target given to Logan by a mysterious robed man the prior evening. As the demon walks by, Logan checks his sniper. After assuring that the safety is off, he takes aim and squeezes the trigger. The silencer works wonders in concealing the sound, and the demon, with a large hole in his head, drops to the ground. Logan smirks to himself; the reward money for this job will be immense.
That evening, Logan walks to an abandoned storefront. He knocks on the door, and after a bit of a wait, the door opens. A robed man opens the door, and Logan walks in.
Robed Man: Well, I see you're back. Is the abomination dead?
Logan: Yeah, he's dead. Plugged 'im in the head, nobody noticed.
Robed Man: Good, good. As promised, here's your reward.
-Robed Man places a card on the table that him and Logan are sitting around-
Logan: What the hell? You told me I'd be getting paid! What're you giving me some card for?!?!?
Robed Man: This is no mere card, boy. This is Volcasaurus, one of the fabled Number cards. It contains immense power within it.
-Volcasaurus card glows red. Logan picks it up and examines it-
Logan: Yeah, sure, whatever. I could find some use for it in my deck.
Robed Man: Yes, yes, nice doing business with you.
Logan exits the building, placing the card in the Extra Deck zone of his custom-model Duel Disk and resisting the urge to go back in and shoot the old man.
Suddenly, Logan realizes that the other Number cards could very well also hold great power. He walks out on the streets with yet another goal: Find the other Number cards.
