DA Live Tournaments
DA Live Tournaments (short: Lives) are mini-tournaments of our Academy. Those tournaments are called live for a reason. There is no sign-ups in forum, or posting the results while your opponent confirms it, or waiting for your opponent to come online. This series of tournaments are hosted in our DA Chatbox because all participants need to be present online at the same time and that is the easiest way to collect them at one place. Brackets are immediately formed in Challonge (website for hosting free tournament brackets) and tournament can start. If you want a competition immediately while you can be online for an hour or two, this tournament series are perfect for you.
The Rules
- Lives always follow current Banlist.
- There is no deck restrictions, both TCG and OCG are allowed (this can be changed by the host)
- Match duels, best 2 or 3, with siding allowed.
- Pairings will be posted by the host of the event.
- Lives can be hosted as many times as members want per day.
- If any problem occurs, the host will take care of it.
- The Host can disqualify any member from the event for the right reasons.
- Minimum number of contestants is 8 and maximum is 16.
- Additional rules may be created by the host if needed.
- Host can be any staff member, including even Assistants and Dorm Leaders.
The Rewards
- Winning a Live Tournament : 500 DP
- Winning two Lives in Row: 500 DP (+Another 300)
- Winning four Lives in Row: 800 DP (+Another 300)
- Winning six Lives in Row: 1000 DP (+Another 600)
- Winning seven Lives in Row: Dorm Upgrade.
Notice: The Dorm Upgrade only works if you are moving from slifer red to ra yellow, it doesn't work if you are ra yellow or obelisk blue already.
The Rankings
Lives are also counted in our Rankings & Scores. There are rankings by Season and Overall which show all seasons together. You can see them HERE. By clicking on "Lives Season" button, rankings for the current season will be shown and by clicking on "Lives Overall" button, rankings for all seasons together will be shown. Number of Lives per season will be announced in a specific topic dedicated for that season.
Table summarizes scores for each Player that gets 1st or 2nd place in a Live Tournament.
1st Place = 10 pts.
2nd Place = 5 pts.
If two players got same number of points, the one with more Live wins will have the advantage, and it continues like that. At the end of a season, winner will be first ranked player and will receive a special reward and interview from DA so that everyone can see his/her success.
