First topic message reminder :

I see the Chatbox problems are getting out of control and it seems like its hard for the staff to solve them properly in time. False rumors circle the academy for the past few weeks about how DA is a bad/troll place now which causes many members leave. If you really look at the facts you will obviously see that those rumors are false.

This is why I made this topic. If you wish to, I could step in and solve Chatbox issues instantly. That would require all staff to give me absolute powers over the chat and whatever I decide would be final decision of whole staff without any exceptions. That is the only way if you want me to step in and solve them for you.

Now go, and vote for a YES. Its not an option, it just looks like it is.

Feudalism Love.

Or it could be because you're an egotist, and giving you absolute power completely eliminates the the need for other people to ever be in the chat. Disagreeing with something isn't evidence of guilt, fear, or wrongdoing.

And what if I take my power from chat away? What would chat look like then? ::Monkey34::

The point is, when I share something with people and give it for free, then I expect at least that people do not abuse it, or how you language people like to say, do not use it in a proper way.

Although you might disagree, I've only witnessed a single staff member abuse his/ her "powers." There is no inherit need for a single person to siphon the abilities of everybody else and take it upon themselves to change every aspect of something that's wrong to how they see fit. How would you accomplish this? Banning every member until you have only a handful of people left? The reality is that there are only a few members who do anything wrong, and the situation is blown so out of proportion that people are believing that they sanction is being defiled in some manner, whether it be trolling, harassment, or whatever, but in fact it's sprouting from the fear of abuse. Not until recently has this been much of an issue, but immediately when new chat rules were suggested due to the actions of a select group of individuals, then more people began acting out. I don't know if they're opportunists or if it's some sort of defense mechanism, but the solution isn't severe punishment due to petty offenses, or threats of ban people for those same petty offenses. The solution is to systematically give specific individuals the chance to redeem themselves, and if that doesn't work out then you can ban them. I mean it's basically an example of the bystander effect, and the moment that you begin doing this everything will fall into place. The more you change the place into a hostile environment the worse people are going to react.

Danica, Amy is a coder. She knows html css and javascript. With these combined skills you can do quite a bit with websites. My guess is that Amy is going to ban a bunch of words and be done with it. Who knows, maybe it's more complex than that. Plus, it's not up to you. This is a joke thread, just to let you all know it's going to get fixed. Don't waste the effort.

lol what is with all these serious posts like you are writing to a president obama ._.

Anyway, you have a reasonable thought about this all, I respect that. However, thing you are missing like most people here is when you predict what I will do, I mean how do you know what my actions are going to be? You can't know that, especially not my actions because they always differ from most people here. They way you described I would use there, is the way some 15 yrs old kid would do it. When I play a game, the people have choices, but they always choose the one I want them to choose Wink

AND THANK YOU DEX! <3 You are one of the few that has seen the true nature of my act with this post Smile

I speak this way because I choose not to lower myself to appeal to the standard or norms of other people. Not like it's a bad thing, but it's what I do.

Anyway, I didn't mean to sound like I implied that your first actions would be to ban people, but it's a popular trend lately, and it was mostly a rhetoric on that, as well as a legitimate question.

I think I won't elect an answer until I know what Amy plans to do. Just like I didnt vote for Obama and Romney because I don't know what they could do, I won't vote here either lol

I would vote Amy without reason, simply because she's Amy.

She has my full support in every regard, by the way. Well, nearly every.

I would vote for Obama simply because I wouldn't for Romney.

It's as if we have to decide between a good thing and a bad thing.

I never was comfortable with you speaking of yourself in third person.

I said this before and i'll say it again, and don't make me say it for a third time. We had a poll for the chat box, the majority voted FOR the chat box new rules, that cut it off.

Now, simple question:

- Why there is so many conflicts on DA Chatbox?

Answer: There is 4 kind of people in DA.

1. People wants to be respected.

2. People wants to be noticed.

3. People wants to have fun.

4. People whom seek all above.

Am for myself, i don't give a damn sh*t about Respect, or notice-ability, i come to DA everyday to have fun, not to have another "Real-Virtual life". If people come here to gain respect, then go find it somewhere else.

Not saying what you are mighe be thinking of right now, there is respect in DA, and chance to be noticed if you are not someone a "somewhat-known" around even tho that doesn't matter for some people.

Adding more restrictions to the chatbox is something am against and always will be. Folks, am from iraq, and i live in syria. Believe me when i say I DON'T WANT MORE RESTRICTIONS IN MY LIFE!

Am not despirate of course, it's just my auto-corrector is broken so am worried about my spelling, ikr?!

So, i'll cut it off here. First, this topic should have been discussed before it's posted, because it confilcts with the current DA rules. Second, doesn't matter the result of those poll, we already had a similar one days ago. Third, am not the sort of people that adulate girls just because they are girls, so don't take any of this personal no matter what, i'll continue to do my job with the other staff members to make this place better, you can sit back and watch.

One last thing, I really dislike how some people keep saying awful things about DA the whole time just because they can, or perhaps because they want to ruin this place reputation. There is new rules comming out in new days that will make DA a little bit more organized that it is with less restrictions.

If you read it carefully... we're telling you the things that need to be improved... I don't see why staff are saying we're saying BS about DA or We're disrespecting DA or We're giving a bad rep to DA... NO. We're not. What we ARE doing is telling YOU, the admins, what US, the members, Want.
