Explanations:
Horus Set: Horus has been my favorite monster since the set came out in Soul of the Dualist. Picked up a set and have using it ever since. I wanted to run a more traditional Horus deck but after reading thought that a disaster variant would be more effective.

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon: For getting dragons out quickly. Key card in the deck not much else I can say. Maybe I don't need to run three?

Prime Material Dragon: Its like Lord of D. but better. It also lets me dump big dragons into my graveyard.

White Night Dragon: More spell and trap negation but also very helpful for protecting weaker creatures like PMD or low level Horus from being killed. Also extremely helpful as a beatstick.

Dark Armed Dragon: Card removal. I have issues getting it on the field so I tend to dump it in the graveyard and use Phantom of Chaos to mimic it.

Phantom of Chaos: I love this card, for one turn it can be anything in my graveyard. DAD, REDMD or Horus 6? Yes please. The other big target for this card is Exiled force.

Burden of the Mighty: This helps with getting Horus to kill creatures and level up.

Dragon's Rebirth: Easy summon of high level dragon. This is becoming less useful as the number of low level dragons in my deck decreases. Would Mirror force be better?

I've done some reading and there are a few cards I know that I need. Red-Eyes Wyvern for one. However, I feel that the issues with my deck go further than that. At the moment the biggest problem I have are decks which simply pack beatsticks stronger than my monsters along with decks that are simply faster. Chaos Dragons rips this deck apart. My other big issue is that I can end up with a lot of dead draws because of all the high level monsters in my deck. I thought about trade in, but for the most part I end up with Horus LV 8 sitting in my hand or REDMD who is not a level 8. Are there other alternatives? I'm working on getting Future Fusion and Five Headed Dragon along with Dragon Ravine.

The deck can swarm quickly but for the most part I tend to play only the minimum number of cards possible unless I'm positive I can win that turn. Normally this means Horus LV 8, Royal Decree and REDMD. Strangely I think the most successful variant of this deck had Blue-Eyes White Dragon and support cards. I could often Search BEWD out, thinning my deck and use either REDMD or Kiabaman to bring them out. Burst Stream of Destruction was very helpful for getting rid of opposing monsters I could not overpower. I took them out because I like the toolbox feel of the deck more, PMD, White Night, DAD. Is it worth it to place these cards back in?

As to the lack of XYZ and Syncro monsters: I'm slowing getting back into the game and even if I have the option of summoning a XYZ or Syncro I tend to forget about them or solve the problem in another way. I'm willing to learn but it will take a while before I think about those card types strategically.

So in short, I don't think the deck is fast enough or has enough power to beat opposing high level monsters.

Other questions I have:
Am I running enough dark monsters to support Dark Armed Dragon? I normally drop it in the graveyard then mimic it with Phantom of Chaos, using that turn to remove troublesome cards.

Light and Darkness Dragon: This deck focuses on special summoning. Don't get me wrong, when I can get this card out its amazing but for the most part when I have two monsters out they are not my first picks of tribute monsters. Is this card dead weight with Horus locking down the opponent's spells anyway?

What cards should I go after in order of importance?

To speed the deck up, will cards like Morphing Jar, Reload, Pot of Duality and Hand Destruction work? Mausoleum of the Emperor for the Tribute monsters?

Thanks all.
