Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters - The OLD PC Game
Okay folks. Some of you requested the old fun and I shall give it to you lol.
The history of game:
Long time ago there was a duelist named Edo. He was kind of okay programmer and did his best to make this game more fun than the great games of that time: Power of Chaos series
My brother discovered it on the net so we downloaded. The game was stupid. Decks were stupid. Everything. However Amy was good with PC's even in old times so I kinda hacked the game and improved it for my bro and his friends to have fun with it lol. Most of things there were on his demand. Most job I did at it was more than 6 yrs ago so don't ask me why this and that lol. Pics decks chars game and everything in it is old. However I guarantee the game is fun to play. IT HAS EVEN ME AS CHARACTER ::Monkey3:: Hell yea....
Then my bro and his friends decided to bring it to this community back in KC days. They converted it back to english language (poor english i know) and compiled everything for installing and playing properly.
I made a site for them lol. http://ancientshadowgames.webs.com/ and for some bloody reason its still up and running. So they had some fun teasing ppl there that the game will be released soon and after a while they forgot about it ::Monkey58:: so the ppl there were left with fake hopes.
Then I gave that version of game to some ppl in KC but I can't remember who. Anyway the game was still on his comp and I decided to bring it here for you all that like to play old style games with no synchros and xyz and all that new crap :D
The game is AUTOMATIC (made by a single man), BUT he was not a good programmer as the guy from YGOCore/Pro and you will experience slight changes in effects LOL. However its fun when you don't know what to expect and when the game trolls you badly. There are also some custom cards that Edo guy made for himself...
It features story play, you start as a character in domino city, give yourself a name and get a noobish random cards deck (not a premade deck but more a random card lottery lol). There are stages with characters in them. Those are from first ygo anime and gx. Cards are also from those times. there are card shops where you can buy and sell cards. Characters will give you some cards from them when you beat em as well. You earn Duel Points (same as here, what an irony).
Earning Duel Points and beating ppl opens up many secrets the game has. New stages, new characters, old characters getting new decks and new cards, some of them giving you their special card after you beat em certain amount of times etc. there are a lot of secret characters and secret stages like Side battle stage. I will write down most of those secrets when I get time.
Do not expect to play the game regularly like real ygo is. As I said some of the cards have weird effects and you need to adapt. The game itself has many secret options like playing fusion cards without fusion summon needed (when you unlock the feature though), so be ready for weird game mechanics. Some opponents are not so smart but have broken cards or play with broken rules. Imagine you are in anime and the things are different than you expected lol. That brings the game more fun because its not plain as those GBA, DS ygo games. The opponents here are much more crazy and mad
There is 88 characters if my memory serves me well which is compared to Power of Chaos games, prah. Some chars dont have pics, 55 of em has i think.
DO NOT ask me questions like will I get new cards, improve the game and stuff like that. I abandoned working on it, and so did the original programmer. The game is final as it is.
