Evil Hero Beat

Featured Deck #2 Feat_by_otakucyrus-d4wg8vv

Hello everyone! We’ve all seen some E Hero Beat decks (unless you’ve been living underground), but that’s normally Elemental Hero Beat. Today, we’ll be looking at LOKOS’ YCS deck that incorporates Evil Heroes and their fusions into his deck. It’s 3-2 in the tournament as of Round 5!

LOKOS uses a lot of focus on his Evil Hero Fusions in this deck running both Dark Calling and Dark Fusion. He also runs Mask Change and Super Polymerization to give him some access to the not-so-evil heroes as well. He runs a lot of traps for a hero deck, and has a couple interesting tech choices in Deep Dark Trap Hole and Starlight Road.

Unlike many decks, LOKOS actually wants his opponent to summon some monsters and grab field presence. This works well for LOKOS, who can then summon his fusion monsters and use their effects to destroy them, or he can use his opponent’s monsters as material for his fusions with Super Polymerization!

The list of fusions LOKOS can summon is grand, and with many fusions comes many ways to respond to situations as they arise. Infernal Sniper can be used as a 2500 DEF wall that deals 1000 dmg per turn and is unaffected by spells. This means he can withstand the Evolzars Laggia and Dollka with ease, and can be a pain in the neck to get rid of in general. Inferno Wing can be summoned to deal heavy damage when the opponent starts setting monsters. Lightning Golem is the go-to beatstick with the wonderfully simple “destroy 1 monster per turn” effect. If his opponent is setting a large backrow, LOKOS can summon Wild Cyclone to get rid of the nuisances. Last but not least, LOKOS has the hugely dangerous Malicious Fiend, who has 3500 ATK and can force the opponent to either skip his/her Battle Phase, or force them to change all their monsters to attack position and attack into the Fiend for OTK happiness.

The deck has enough tech in it and can summon enough dangerous monsters to make it a threat to the current meta. LOKOS has admitted to having trouble, only in the case of dead draws later in a duel, or if the opponent is able to place a lot of traps on the field, which can disrupt his ability to pull off his big summons.

The deck that LOKOS most fears to face is Dragunities, because while his deck is perfectly capable of dealing with 1 or 2 monsters each turn, when the opponent is summoning multiple times each turn, it can become a bit hectic for this deck, which focuses primarily on summoning only a few powerful monsters, to keep up.

That being said it is a wonderfully inventive deck and let us all wish LOKOS the best of luck in making it to the Top 16, where he can show everyone what his deck is really made of!

It seems like LOKOS has created something very interesting xD
I don't think I've seen a deck exactly like this ever. Nice job on the article, sorry I took so long on the banners x.x
