The Supremacy Sun

I am wondering if you are able to use the effects of a Dark World monster when you discard and Spec Summon The Supremacy Sun. I know that they're effects don't work if they're discarded to do something such as "discard 1 card to destroy 1 monster on the field", but with Supremacy Sun it says "you can discard 1 card; Special Summon this card from the Graveyard". It doesn't specify if it's a cost to summon himself back although I believe I know the answer already... and in this case do you have to discard to Special Summon him back? Again, not specified as discarding is the cost to revive...

its discard effect is a cost so DWs wont work with it

and yes oyu must discard to special summon it, the ; tells you this
