Me and Dragonmaster Z were dueling and came upon an interesting question... If an XYZ is banished with a card like Dimensional Prison, are the monsters attached to the XYZ banished as well?

No, they're just detached. Meaning they are sent to the grave.

no they are sent to the grave because technicly they arnet monsters while attached to a XYZ monster they are simply material BUT if a card like macro cosmos is on field they are banished as they are cards
