What happened to DA

When I first visited this site, It was crowded with activity all over. There were plenty of events, tourneys, and such. In fact, there was a whole community of related Academy forums, which had just as much activity. However, as time went on, there was less and less activity going on in the site. Come today, when I see the latest threads in sections are weeks or even months old, and the whole Academy community is seemingly dead. What happened? How did this community went from thriving to near-dead?

It isn't 2009 anymore. People moved on to discord, twitch and other sites. Why would you post that you're looking for duels for example when you can just hop onto discord and ask a huge amount of people? Forums are just used nowadays to keep track of stuff

Forums are old and essentially outdated, Why bother posting and waiting for a reply on a forum when you can just hop on to discord and get instant replies. All forums are good for now is hard copy of articles and information and keeping track of tournaments.

yeah it is a huge shame but with the current faced paces way of the world everyone want everything in a instant.

The online community in whole is still very active (Even DA) just in a different location ie Discord. So be sure you check are Discord out if you havnt already.

And frankly it was a necessary change. DA would be dead at this point otherwise

Even so, nothing really beats the feel of the forum. Yeah Discord is practical and allows for faster comunication, but there was just something that kept you comming back every day to check on you friends and to see if your topic has started a lively conversation.

easier to check discord on the go with devices like phones, and since you can set discord up with the same topic areas not much of a point for forum besides posting intros and events etc.
