- Wind-Up Shark. His special summoning effect is an optional one, meaning if that the "When a "Wind-Up" monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your side of the field" is not the last thing to happen on the field he misses the timing to special summon himself. Also Maxx "C" can be chained to Shark's effect to special summon himself, since it is not an inherent summon, and it starts a chain.

- Wind-Up Rat. Rat's effect special summons the monster at resolution. If Rat or the targeted in-grave monster are not where they are supposed to be at effect resolution, the effect of Wind-Up Rat disappears. Note: It is still changed to DEF position.

- Wind-Up Hunter. The part of Hunter's effect which tributes a Wind-Up monster is the cost. This will always be paid, no matter what happens next.

- Wind-Up Magician. Magician's effect is called "mandatory-optional". It gives the player the chance to not activate it, but it never misses timing. This is because it is spelled "If... You can..." and not "When... You can...".

-Wind-Up Factory. Even if the effect of a "Wind-Up" monster was negated by Skill Drain, since the effect was activated, you can activate the effect of Wind-Up Factory. This is also true for Effect Veiler. Also, Wind-Up Factory and Wind-Up Magician will both activate and resolve if a Wind-Up monster activates its effect. Even if the effect of a "Wind-Up" monster is activated as chain 2 or higher, you can activate the effect of Wind-Up Factory in a new chain.

- Wind-Up Hunter's effect will not trigger Dark World effects, since Hunter says "send" and not "discard".
