Maybe you didn't read the effect well:
When this card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect

his 2nd eff is also useless. Replace him by rykos

Well, it's not that useless. you can use it with spells like Hamer Shot, Saber Slash or Torrential tribute to destroy itself. also he's an 1600 ATK than can't be BTH'd.

He can be BTH'd -.-, Any changes in the attack/defense are applied once the monster is summoned...like wetlands + unifrog i can bth unifrog in that case.
