Welcome to my first article about Zombies.
Zombie decks are famous for clearing and then swarming the field.
some of these cards are rather weaker than the others,but if used properly
zombies can very usefull.
Cards commonly used:
Zombie Master-
[Zombie/Effect]
Once per turn, you can send 1 Monster Card from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie-Type Monster from either player's Graveyard.
Used for swarming the field with zombies.
Pyramid Turtle-
[Zombie/Effect]
When this card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster with 2000 or less DEF from your Deck.
Used for stalling or getting other high level zombies.
Il Blud-
[Zombie/Gemini]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: - Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster from your hand or from either player's Graveyard. When this card is removed from the field, destroy all Zombie-Type monsters Special Summoned by this effect.
Used for swarming,but since its a gemini its a bit difficult to get.
Ryu Kokki-
If a monster that battles with this monster is a Warrior or Spellcaster-Type monster, destroy that monster at the end of the Damage Step.
You can easily get it using the effect of Pyramid Turtle.
Goblin Zombie-
[Zombie/Effect]
When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, send the top card of their Deck to the Graveyard. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add 1 Zombie-Type monster with 1200 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand.
Used to get Zombie Master and to send the other players deck to the grave and reducing his chances of winning.
Not having very high attack,Zombie Decks have to have the ability to clear the field due to les attack power.
Zombies can be over powered easily so the field must be cleared
Cards that clear the feild:
Lightning Vortex-
[Spell]
Discard 1 card. Destroy all face-up monsters your opponent contro
Torrential Tribute-
You can only activate this card when a monster is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or Special Summoned. Destroy all monsters on the field.
Mirror Force-
[Trap]
You can only activate this card when your opponent's monster declares an attack. Destroy all Attack Position monsters on your opponent's side of the field.
Heavy Storm-
[Spell]
Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the Field.
Snipe Hunter-
Discard 1 card from your hand. Select 1 card on the field and roll a six-sided die. If the result is not 1 or 6, destroy the selected card.
Another major aspect in a zombie deck are special summons.
Cards that enable Special summons:
Monster reborn-
[Spell]
Select 1 monster from either you or your opponent's Graveyard. Special Summon the selected monster on your side of the field
Book of life-
[Spell]
Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster from your Graveyard to the field and remove from play 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard.
Creature swap-
[Spell]
Each player selects 1 monster they control and switches control of those monsters with each other. Those monsters cannot change their battle positions for the rest of this turn.
how it works:Use creature swap,give him Pyramid Turtle and take his monster(higher attack than Pyramid turtle)
attack Pyramid Turtle and special summon Ryu Kokki.
Card of safe return-
[Spell]
When a monster is Special Summoned to the field from your Graveyard, you can draw 1 card from your Deck.
To get quick draws.
Now there are some decks that can counter zombies easily,so watch out if your opponent is using them.
Cards that can obliterate zombie decks:
Royal Oppression-
Pay 800 Life Points. Negate the Special Summon of a monster(s), and the effect that Special Summoned the monster(s), and destroy both. Both you and your opponent can use this effect.
A zombie deck is nothing without special summons.
Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo-
[Rock/Effect]
While this card is face-up on the field, neither player can Special Summon. When this card is flipped face-up, destroy all monsters on the field that were Special Summoned
Remove From Game cards-
Most zombie decks use effects by sending cards to the grave,but if the cards were never sent to the grave,we might have a little problem.
Doomcaliber Kight-
[Fiend/Efect]
This card cannot be Special Summoned. When an Effect Monster's effect is activated, you must Tribute this card. Negate that effect's activation, and destroy the monster.
Raiou-
[Thunder/Effect]
While this card is face-up on your side of the field, cards can only be added to the hand by drawing them from the Deck. Also, you can send this face-up card from your side of the field to the Graveyard to negate the Special Summon of 1 of your opponent's monsters and destroy it.
If all of these points are followed and taken care of
you have a kick-butt zombie deck in no time.
