*Turns of the techno*

Ill be introducing you to a very interesting series of monster cards known as the VWXYZ

My First article as an OATM: Back to Kindergarden! Learn your VWXYZ! VWXYZ-DragonCatapultCannonDR04-EN-R

Now ill be telling you about the card set itself:

V Tiger Jet:
My First article as an OATM: Back to Kindergarden! Learn your VWXYZ! V-tiger-jet

Now the basic point of a VWXYZ Deck is to fuse your union VWXYZ monsters with the non-union ones.
Its like fusion without polymerization.
Now Union monsters have to ability to get equipped to the other VWXYZ monsters giving them better effects.

These are all LIGHT type machine monsters

Now lets check out some cards that can search out your VWXYZ's:

Jade Knight

Face-up Machine-Type monsters you control with 1200 or less ATK cannot be destroyed by the effects of Trap Cards. When this face-up card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Level 4 LIGHT Machine-Type monster from your Deck to your hand

Summoner Monk:

This card cannot be Tributed. When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned, it is changed to Defense Position. Once per turn, you can discard 1 Spell Card to Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your Deck. It cannot attack this turn.

Shining Angel:

When this card is sent to the Graveyard by battle, you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck in face-up Attack Position.

Those effects are pretty obvious so there isnt need for explaination.

Support:

These are the cards that support the Union monsters you have:

Frontline Base:

Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 Union Monster of Level 4 or lower from your hand.

Using this card you can summon a union from your hand and also summon the other fusino material as a normal summon.

Roll Out!:

Select 1 Union Monster in your Graveyard and equip it to an appropriate monster on your side of the field.

This way you can easily equip your unions even if they were destryoed.(You can always unequip the special summoned monster and special summon it to the field.

Heavy Mech Support Platform:

Once per turn, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a face-up Machine-Type monster on your side of the field as an Equip Card, OR unequip it and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that monster gains 500 ATK and DEF. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, this card is destroyed instead.)

An good source of increasing your monsters attack.

Now for the cards that give the deck an advantage:

Luminous Spark:

Increase the ATK of all LIGHT monsters by 500 points and decreases their DEF by 400 points.

Since all your VWXYZ Monsters are light types this card helps increasing attack points.

Honest:

During your Main Phase, you can return this card from the field to its owner's hand. During either player's Damage Step, when a face-up LIGHT monster you control battles, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to have that monster gain ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling, until the End Phase.

I find this card to be a must in any deck that revolves around light monsters.

Since a lot of people get confused when it comes to this card ill explain it with an example:

Now if my opponent has a red-eyes black dragon on the field and he attacks my Z Metal Tank,i will discard honest from my hand as soon as he attacks me and because of honest my monster will gain 2400 attack making its attack 3700 which is grater than red-eyes so it will die and the opponent will lose 1300.

Limiter Removal:

Double the ATK of all face-up Machine-Type monsters you control, until the end of this turn. During the End Phase, destroy all monsters that were affected by this effect.
Cards like frontline base that can get you a bunch of union monsters and since your monsters are machines limiter removal can deal some serious damage

Chimeratech Fortress Dragon:

"Cyber Dragon" + 1 or more Machine-Type monsters. This monster cannot be used as a Fusion Material Monster. You can only Special Summon this card from your Extra Deck by sending the above cards from either side of the field to the Graveyard. (You do not use "Polymerization".) The original ATK of this card is equal to 1000 x the number of Fusion Material Monsters used to Special Summon it.

Since your deck is based aroudn machines, your machines can fuse with Cyber Dragon(will be added to deck) for this card.

Return from the Different Dimension:

Pay half your Life Points. Special Summon as many of your removed from play monsters as possible. During the End Phase, remove from play all monsters that were Special Summoned by this effect.:

since your monsters are removed from the game when you attempt to fuse them using unions this card can revive them and use them for another fusino.

So now ill introduce you to the fusions:

For XZ fusion, it can't stop Torrential. Torrential will simply be chained to its summoning.

Luminous Spark is bad. There are plenty of Light monsters out there in other decks including Rai-Oh who is spammed in many decks, but also many decks use Cydrag and there's always LS to worry about. Overall, monster effects are used so much nowadays that most kills are via effect, not battle, which makes Luminous Spark basically a -1 with limited help to your deck.

No use of any Synchros in the deck is also a bit disturbing since you're basically leaving out an entire important aspect of the game.

The final deck isn't fast enough to OTK, but doesn't have enough cards in it to go toward controlling the duel, so in other words I don't see how you can kill your opponent fast enough or stop your opponent from just beating the crap out of you. The deck either needs some form of draw engine or more control cards like BTH and BoM. This also needs a side deck.

Lastly, although this is meant to be an article, I see nothing on strategies, combos, strengths, and weaknesses of the deck. It is basically a listing of the cards in the deck, and what each card does. Not even any talk about the synergies between the cards...

Looking at this from the perspective of someone who knows nothing about the deck-type, I think that a person like that would not learn much from this article he/she couldn't have figured out simply by looking at the cards themselves. Therefore, I'm gonna give this article a 3.5/10. Sorry, I'm not so forgiving as Jin is for his Teacher evaluations.
