My new yu-gi-oh goal

Anyone who has played this game has been in this situation once. Something happens in the game you dont quite understand while playing against somebody. Instead of explaining why this ruling occurs, they mock you or assume you suck simply because a new ruling has been made that you are unaware of. This irritates me so much. Some people just arnt perfect seriously.
My new goal isnt to build the best deck, or win every duel, its to change this game. No one deserves to be treated like that. Were lucky enough to have people playing the game. The last thing we need is people quitting because others treat them like crap.
I know that if someone doesnt understand a ruling i will always be respectful and explain things, be there with a link, to show why the rules are the way they are. And that if i dont know a ruling, i will be willing to accept i made a mistake. No one is perfect. Especially in a game where you are most likely going to lose at least 20% of the time :p i respect anyone who toke the time to read this and join in my rebellion.

Very few people act like that in person. You have this image of the game that's been sculpted by an extremely poor online community, whereas in fact a large majority of people in real life who play (or as far as I've experienced) are nice. This isn't always the case. I've met plenty of cheaters, douches, and narcissists who play this game, but those people are typically known to be that way.

I like you, simply because you're doing something that's been needed for years. This will be a difficult task to accomplish, but I'm sure that you'll succeed with enough perseverance.

But yea everytime i've gone to my locals I never get into a ruling argument like I do online, Though I swear I have been cheated by 2 people there before, but when ever something came up about rulings irl my opponet was always respectful/nice and so was I.

Basicly if someone starts doing that do you about rulings you either;
1. Leave the duel
2. Act like a doosh bag rigth back at him/her
3. Just ignore him/her and wait for the admin

People just ARE that stupid and ignorant.

People will continue to be assholes. I don't appreciate them any more than you do, but I have come to terms with that. That being said, I myself strive to be the least assholey that I can possibly be, and I appreciate people who do the same.

Can you change yourself to be more resistant to these internet trolls/pricks? yes.
Can you magically purge the internet of these internet trolls/pricks? No.

Best thing you can do is develop yourself as a duelist and put up with them like everyone else.

Admirable. I think feedback has been poor to this, but I think you have a strong heart. You have a passion for Yu-Gi-Oh! And I applaud that.

Intentions mean little. Attempting to do the impossible is simply pointless and a waste of energy. Such should not be applauded, but eschewed. Any of our wills must conform to reality, and reality rejects this notion.

As a person he should be telling what's wise and practical. This is not out of sheer wanting to diminish your ideology, but out of communicating the fact that your goal is a fruitless endeavor: a fool's errand. It's nice to have goals, but goals are void without a well thought plan, and even then are moot because you're going off of the assumption that a single person can single-handedly persuade the hearts of virtually every player in this game to change their character for your own ambitions. You're not a government who has control over a mass of people whom you can control and program with propaganda, and you're not a revolutionist who is fighting for the collective dream(s) of a group of people. That's why Potus said what he said, and your idea of the YGO community at large of being culprits of social distastefulness is intensified via the online community.

You obviosuly Don't Know Potus. He is like that, but his intentions are usually good. Don't take offense to his words, like I said, I am sure he meant well. if he didn't, then oh well....not my problem.

Hi nice goal. I agree with you 100 percent. however, you can't change interweb trollers. Just do your part.

A lot of times on DN people just pretend not to know the rules to troll. It really screws with the curve. Some people also get offended when you post rulings for them. There are also users who don't know rulings and make up their own and claim them to be official. Because of these people your dream will be impossible to fulfil. Trolls don't like to be told what to do. Sorry man, this is just reality.

I admire the fact that you want such a thing to take place, but unfortunately, I have to agree with most of the other people. Such a goal is impossible to accomplish. The most it can be is a bliss dream that you have as you sleep.

Im not saying his constructive criticism isn't appreciated, but to be up front. My plan doesn't really havta involve anyone. Saying my endeavor is "fruitless" and "pointless" isn't for you to decide. I'm not telling you to forget everything that you ever dreamed because it is out of reach. Though this goal is difficult and it seems impossible. I will try to best to see it through. Not every dream is going to be in the best interest pf everybody. No one can please everybody. Posting comments because you believe i'm slow for looking at a goal ,for what i believe will help the community, is nothing but nonsense. Potus Mat, thank you for your views and i apologize if i offended you in anyway. I was merely expressing that no matter how many negative comments i receive this is my path to follow and whoever chooses to be a part of it is welcome. I'm not forcing anybody to do anything. Several things wrong with this. Firstly, you assume I'm looking for an argument. Secondly,you're asking me to go somewhere else because you don't like what I have to say (if this is the case, don't make a thread). Lastly, you're assuming that I understand your reasoning for wanting me to leave. I do, and it's very pathetic. I have a goal too: I want to become The Spectre and have enough power to alter reality to my whim.

ruling eh. hmm, that why i leave DN and playing YGOpro. when you make a move in duel, and suddenly your opponent ask "how come you did that ?" i am sure that duel will be 60% screwed.
